If At First You Don't Succeed, Do It AGAIN!
Mill Street at Rt. 50 was closed again because the water main busted AGAIN. That's right, not that long ago I had a Post up showing this exact same area under repair, yet it must not have been done right because they closed the road off again today to dig up their recent work and correct what went wrong.
Look, I like the guys at Public Works. However, this begs the question, what's going wrong? The Mayor claims the infrastructure in Salisbury is failing, yet when you replace it with new, it's still failing?
Oh well, election time is just around the corner and it's high time we vote in someone who knows how to manage people and get things right.

MILL STREET==Amazes me everytime I enter Salis.traveling East passing Nanticoke Rd.There is A State Road Sign advising to avoid Mill Street traffic congestion use Business Rte 13. Now that sign has been there there for several years and I have not found a way to BYPASS Mill Street yet.Since Comegys reads this post daily maybe he can answer this during his lunch time.
Joe: What do you expect of this women? Has she gotten anything right for the tax payers yet? Not to my knowledge and the infrastructure needs major repairs and very soon. In fact it should have been worked on several years ago and we wouldn't be faced with the bad situations today. In the Marine Corps we had a special acronym for that "PPP" (piss poor planning).

Hey Joe,
I'm sure if they had a water main break, most likely it was a crack and all they did was put a sleeve over it and re-pack the ground around it. That is typical of how any jurisdiction fixes a broken water main. And this type of break is typical. It is the large blow-outs that require replacing sections of pipe. They are not so typical.
I used to live on a street that would have 3 to 4 breaks a year and that is on a 1/4 mile street. I spoke to our county DPW and they said it was out of the ordinary but not worth replacing the whole section yet. This water main is less then 30 years old too.
You ought to keep tabs on how many times that section has a break. Most likely first one caused the last one if they didnt pack it right.

Help me understand this. Our local government gets $X from taxes and grants. With that money they have to fund EVERY department of the government. Now you look out your window at a broken water line and see that the water guys are fixing it again.
I really don't think they deliberatley didn't fix it right the first time, do you? And this is going to take money that wasn't in the budget.
Now anon 12:27 says that PPP is the problem here. I don't see how. If every department got all the money they needed to fix every problem and improve all the stuff that needs improved, there simply isn't enough money in the coffers. So somebody has to dole it out in some logical fashion.
If it doesn't go to where somebody thinks it should go, then they complain about everything the governing body does and the elected officials.
I think I have this right.
Joe, you absolutely have every right to complain about elected and non-elected officials in our local government and I further think it's everybody's duty to voice our opinions.
That's it. I can't think of anything more to add.
Keep us informed Joe!
The skilled workers are gone , the ones that are left just don't know
how to do things properly. (they
don't give a crap either)
The problem 12:55 is that the mayor has failed to put much money toward the infrastructure of this city in the more then 10 years she has been at the helm. She has given away millions to LLC's and spent money on other frivolous and not needed items. Hence the term PPP!!

So how much more Poo got dumped (no pun intended) in the Wicomico?
Opps I see it was a water main not sewage, I guess we taxpayers have to fork up the cost to swallow all that water, in our personal water/sewer bills.
