I Just Couldn't Resist!

I'm starting to believe I'm actually a spoiled brat. Last week I bought a Harley Davidson Fat Boy and this week I bought a Harley Davidson Electra Glide Classic. I wanted a grand touring bike, one that Jennifer would be comfortable on to enjoy long rides in the country. It doesn't get any better than this! I can't wait for Bike Week! Do YOU have the bug yet? Have you ever ridden in the past? Do you ride now? If you do ride, what kind of Bike/Bikes do you have?

I rode with my poppie when I was younger. I believe he had a bike called a triumph? I'm not sure, but I have such fond memories of him and his bike. Sadly he passed away in april. But I'm getting excited to see all the bikes real soon.

IS THIS NEWS?

I rode in the 60's. Way too much car traffic on the roads now. I don't think that I could feel comfortable riding a bike now.

With all of that flow do you need a well paid assistant?

Joe:
Congratulations on the purchase but if you want something
R E A L L Y comfortable try a Honda Goldwing.

I haven't ridden since my dad died 15 years ago. He was the best bike mechanic this area has ever seen (RV Cycle) and I would not trust riding with anyone but him. It just isn't the same.

Joe,
I agree with 11:18!! The WING is the way to tour. I have been riding since 1955. Currently on Honda ST1300 (Sport Tourer) but did have a lapse back in 60s and bought a Sportster. Back to Hondas after that and have been there since. Am restoring Classic 1954 Ariel Square Four (1000cc) and 1971 Hodaka ACE100. Going to Honda Homecoming on 23rd with buddy on his Hog. I'll try to get him BACK on a WING. Ride Safe, Dave

I have an 82 Honda Goldwing 1100.You are right Anon 11:18, they are the most comfortable bikes that I know of.

I thought about a Gold Wing but I truly don't like the new look of it. The Gold Wings of the 90's are very cool looking but I just can't handle the new style. Nice Bike though.

It's a Harley for me....there's no other choice. Joe you'll never regret your purchase. There are two types of bike owners...the ones that have Harleys and the ones that wish they did!

When I was younger I had a BSA 441....too hard to get parts for. I graduated to a Honda CB750. It had an 836 overbore kit, a Kerker 4 to 1 exhaust (no baffle of course), and ten inch tubes up front. I liked it a lot. Now I'm older and I worry about older ppl (like myself), and young drivers not seeing me and trying to occupy the same space at the same time.

It's not being killed that worries me....it's being maimed and living through it that scares the hell out of me.

Hubby has the bug. He has started a custom chopper. I want one too :) Paint it pink, custom leather seat to look like a pair of panties, down tubes to look like legs.....I am way to creative to be in the job I'm in... Now if I could just get some money to finish the project :(

Grand Dad you are dating yourself with that cb750. I had one two, fast bike and many people had them that eventually raced them.

I had to buy a Harley to save on gas. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I was once on the back of a Harley, ridin' with my then brother-in-law through Queens New York and out onto the Long Island expressway. My one ride. Then on scooters in Bermuda down to the "Swizzle Inn" and back up the mountain to Castle Harbour where we were all staying. That was back in the '60's and late '70's. Coupled with working in an O.R. was enough to cure me of the desire, especially the ride in Queens. It made me afraid of the scooters in Bermuda. (Since Bermuda, I've always wanted to open a "cyclery" in Ocean city. Park your car here and go into town on a putt putt where only putt putts are allowed.)

Eh, I'm eyeing a Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom in Candy Lime Green. Just took the Novice Motorcycle Course that the State offers over the Holiday weekend ...

Excellent choice Joe - I enjoy my Harley as well.

I haven't forgotten Pearl Harbor like these Honda Riders have.

I ride an older Fat Boy. I don't have your kinda money but I sure like seeing peeps like you enjoy theirs. Ride on and hope to see you on the road.
