Paul Williams Becomes World Champion

Last night I received a phone call from Hal Chernoff in total excitement. It turns out the Boxer Fernando spars with all the time, (another southpaw) from Washington, D.C. knocked out Carlos Quintano in the first round last night to win the Welterweight Championship of the World.

Paul Williams comes to Salisbury frequently and I'm sure will receive an unbelievable welcome the next time he comes to town. Fernando and Hal couldn't be happier for this young man as they have nothing but the utmost respect for Paul and his entire Team.

Paul Williams lost to Qunitanos in a close descision back in February. Paul was very sick be he and His manager/trainer could not bacl out of the fight and refused to make any excuses. Firstgof all no one would believe them and second it would make them look like whiners. These guys are claspeople and knew that as soon a Paul was healthy he would get back to where he belonged, He did.
This is about people working hard and living right to acomplish high goals, you have to love it.

Holy smoke~! The county needs to jump at the opportunity to have Fernado box here at the Civic Center before most of us won't be able to afford to see him in a championship bout in Vegas.

Glad to hear it Fernado and Hal!
