Most Outrageous Moments

Have you ever seen this show on television? We just sat through watching this show in which some clips were in fact funny. However, this is the very first time I can easily say there was more commercials throughout the entire show than there was a show! I have become so sick and tired of television it isn't funny. We have satellite in which we spend $110.00 a month for anything and everything, yet were subjected to more commercials and or shows that repeat the same scene 3 or 4 times in a row, as if you didn't get it the first time.

Have you noticed that in those police shows where they show it to you once, then they show it to you again, then again and then one last time. Are Americans that retarded now a days? This is entertainment? The way I see it is, we need satellite television like we have satellite radio, NO FREAKIN COMMERCIALS!

I have given up on the network shows and tend to watch stations like Discovery Channel, Military Channel and the History Channel. At least with shows like The Deadliest Catch and Ice Road Truckers, these are real men (and at times women) making money the hard and honest way.

All network shows are anymore are piece of crap reality TV. The days for a good show are gone except for specialized networks.

I agree though...commercials are a waste...only good thing is that they let you get up for a snack or take a leak.

I watch those shows too, (all of them). However, my Wife has control of the remote most of the time and the crap she watches and the amount of commercials everyone is subjected to is just crap!

Now it seems to be a matter of going to get something to drink or go to the bathroom and taking the risk of now missing the freakin show!

I'm becoming one of those adults that simply hates television. One of my friends recently built a monster of a home and has no television in it. That's what I'm talking about. However, his Wife has now found television on the Internet.

It's time to take a road trip in the Motor Home.

I've given up on TV for this very reason (and that I like to use my time well).

Haven't watched more then 5 hours in the last two years (some March madness, and a superbowl, but that's it).

The internet's has replaced the TV.

Folks, get a grip. Then get yourself a decent DVR (I have a SONY unit).

Pre-record your shows, then skip past all those loud-mouthed commercials with the push of a button.

We hardly ever watch "live" TV anymore these days, as it takes up too much of our time.

We can watch an hour show in about 40 minutes using this method.

If the show is a keeper, we can make our own DVD copy of it before erasing it from the hard drive. Without the commercials, too! :)

A few years ago I gave up on cable. I was paying $100/mo for a ton of channels, and I was really only watching a few of them (FOX news, Food Network, History, Discovery, Comedy Central). While looking at my budget, it seemed like this was a possible way to save up some more money.

First order of business after ditching cable TV was buying Christmas presents for my friends and family. I paid cash for more of them than usual, and had the credit card charges paid off by the end of Feb - much earlier than usual. 2nd year on, I didn't need a credit card to buy presents at all.

Next, I bought a membership to Blockbuster online. Three videos out at a time and a free rental by returning the movie to the store. This nets me up to 5 movies a week for about $20/mo. With good movies, my withdrawal from TV subsided a lot.

I've also turned my cable savings into an Xbox. With two free game rentals from Blockbuster, I can play a game all I want for no additional expense. While they are due back in a week, you can get away with two weeks without any penalties.

Recently I bought a nice big HDTV, IN CASH, from my cable savings. Now the movies and video games are even more enjoyable.

As a side effect, now I can watch digital channels. They are almost always crystal clear and I get stations from Salisbury, Annapolis, DC, and Baltimore with a nice antenna. Plenty of stuff to watch, if I really want to.

Three years ago, I didn't think that this experiment would work. Now, I'm glad that I did it. I've given better gifts, lost less money to interest payments, have more money in the bank, and have better entertainment options all at the same time.

Ditch the satellite, Joe. Use the money to save another horse or something. Or invest it - I know you like to see your money grow.

The most outrageous thing I've seen on TV was a commercial for a home pregnancy test, announcing that that it's the most advanced technology "that you'll ever pee on."

Good grief!

TV turns your brain to mush. I'm surprised the Dope Operas are still running. Turn the TV off, read a book, plant a garden, get a hobby, do something besides watch the tv. Excessive use of a remote control will cause carpal tunnel syndrome. LOL

Turn TV off and get a life.

how can you possibly tsake a trip in a motorhome with gas at $4.00 a gal. Knowing there are people who cannot get to work or take a low paying job because of the cost of getting to work, you could be doing so much with your money Joe

YOU don't know of anyone who can't get to work because gas is $4.00 a gallon. You also don't know of anyone who won't take a job because of the cost of gas.

Granted, times are tough but like it or not, I planned for these tough times and if I want to take my Motor Coach across the Country and enjoy everything I worked so hard for, that's my business, not yours.
