19 year old Michael Mitchell Jr. of Henry Rd. in Berlin was found beaten to death.Found at Decatur Farms. He was attending a graduation party with students from Stephen Decatur High School. His father works for Worcester County landfill. Good family.More to come....
Update as of 12 noon:
Allegedly, the person who killed Michael was a local businessman's son. It was over a girl. The alleged killer rode by Michael while he was walking from one party to another. Words were exchanged. Then the killer got out of his vehicle with a bat and struck Michael in the head.I have more info including names, but I choose not to release it at this time.Justice will be served.

Michael Mitchell, Jr., was a neighbor. Typical teenager. Not necessarily good, but certainly not bad. This is the saddest story I have heard in years. Regardless of why, there is no acceptable reason. Could someone PLEASE tell me how 80% of America can object to the war in iraq because of the violence and loss of American life and not one single person seems to speak out about the violence and lack of respect for human life amongst our youth? Every week, I read about a young person injured, hospitalized and now killed because of senseless violence and fighting. When is enough going to be enough? The violence exhibited by America's young people is just as much a priority as brining are brave freedom fighters home again.
Hopefully, real criminal doesn't tell police it was someone else that committed the crime and police believe him. Lets pray that this time they get the right person.
Otherwise, the victim's family and victim will never have justice served. If it was my child I would want the right person to pay, blood for blood, not innocent blood, the right blood.........

I know his Father and feel very sorry for the family and his friends that are so young dealing with his death and the fact the someone they know was the one who killed him. It's a very senseless tragedy.
The police know some of the people involved. I hope thier names are posted soon. These were all kids that went to school together. Its so terrible that they could do this to someone else out of anger. They will pay a big price for this senseless , immature act of murder.

I'm also very concerned when i hear most of the comments speak of justice, blood for blood, senseless violence committed by our youth .... b/c there can be a number of contributors and circomstances involved in EACH CASE that we may never know. Its a sad world to me when tiny young kids are daily exposed to indepth violence and sex from the net and especially tv and movies. They grow up thinking its easy and normal and it desensitizes them. From there they act out in anger and many times are not even aware of the brutal damage they are inflicting and most do "not" want to KILL thier victom.
True, that there certainly are the really heartless, mean, individuals that are setting out to kill thier victom not just mame them. I for one would pray to God that this child/young man did not willfully intend on actully killing his victom.
I am still praying for all the family's involved not just his and of course the victom's...but all the extended families as well.
I cannot believe that one of the boys ( Fernado,)got to go home on bail to mommy and daddy after being charged with 1st degree murder, while the other sits in jail for the same charges. Goes to show you what having money can do.
It was self defense and justice was not served..so sad for BOTH families to have lost a loved one. My heart goes out to both Michael's family and to Maureen and her other children. and this "article"/ "news update" is completely false and full of lies. Also sad. lol
