Incident: Vehicle Pursuit

Suspects: Calvin Kinzer Reid, Jr., 20 YOA, Snow Hill, MD
On 29 May 2008, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team attempted to stop a vehicle operated by Calvin Kinzer Reid for a traffic violation on Zion Road in Salisbury, MD. Instead of stopping for the deputy, Reid attempted to elude the deputy by fleeing on East Naylor Mill Road behind the Centre at Salisbury at a high rate of speed. Reid cut through the Centre at Salisbury and led the deputy around Ring Road that encircles the mall before heading back out towards North Salisbury Blvd. Reid ran the light and headed northbound before turning into the Salisbury Mobile Home Park. The vehicle pursuit terminated when Reid collided with a parked pick-up truck at the end of Dove Street at which point Reid attempted to flee on foot. Deputies converged on the area and caught Reid as he attempted to run back towards East Naylor Mill Rd.
Reid was transported to the Central Booking Unit at the Wicomico County Detention Center where he was processed and charged with Attempting to Flee and Elude in both a vehicle and on foot along with leaving the scene of a Property Damage Accident. After an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner, Reid was held on $10,000.00 bond.

Sounds fishy, he eluded police for a traffic violation? Sounds like he got out and ran to get rid of some evidence.
I understand that it led to an accident, why run in the first place?
Because he has a past for drugs and guns and is still on parole or probation.
And worth risking innocent people's lives for what? Perfect example of a pursuit that should have never happened.
