BC Responds To Today's Liquor Dispensary Article

1. I find it interesting that you don't show the whole ad. What is there that you don't agree with.

2. The LCB has ZERO to do with the county. IT IS ALL state mandated. That means your wonderful guvnah is in charge of it, not the local yocals you call a county council.

3. ANY business that takes its employees to lunch, or dinner, or gives them a bonus, is ultimately doing it with their customers money. So I guess what you want is every LCB employee to get $6.15 an hour and no benefits, because that would equal lower costs right??? Have you ever done anything for your employees?!? Either you are a scrooge of a boss, or you are raising your costs and taking care of your people. Where do you expect them to go to dinner, Brew River???

4. SERIOUSLY, with all the crap that is going on on the shore, you are still worried about an organization which you have no jurisdiction over at this time, which gives you $400 k a year.

5. Stewart Haemel is not Barrie Tilghman!!! Not even close. Stevie Prettyman on the other hand, Her personality, and the results of her politics, THAT is more like Tilghman.

6. Let us not forget - Stevie Prettyman LIED at that council meeting when she grandstanded and threw the beer on the table - beer she did NOT buy at a dispensary (they never sold Bud Light!!!) But YOU won't ask her for the receipt, probably because she never had it.

7. I know this won't see the blog, but I know you read it, and you know everything I've said is true.

Good enough for me. Seriously, if you really want a villian, look at the county council. Those are the most dishonest people around you.

11. btw...It was Nancy Reagan's 11th commandment that you keep disregarding, not Ronald's.

and I'm B.C., in N.C. I don't need anonymity, just don't use any of that other stuff.

If you click the first photo, it IS the entire ad.

Now look, I don't have the time to go through each and every statement here. I'll simply say I disagree.

OK, I can't resist. Look, the mere fact that they pulled this "dinner" together simply to round up the troops to fight the County Council, (and that was the reason for the meeting) at taxpayers expense, is BS!

Every time you pansy asses, (Ron Alessi especially, doing the same thing at the Zoo) want to get everyone on your side, spoil them with expensive dinners and lunches and we ALL know what that does to encourage everyone to believe you're great people.

The LCB is history, face it. It will go up for referendum and the taxpayers will rid of all of you spoiled brats. Get used to it right now because if YOU think you're going to use OUR tax dollars to run a campaign, you're nuts! "Not Nuts" comes to mind, actually. The BC in NC is a bunch of crap also.

The governor was supposed to select new board members, and he has yet to do it. The way it was set up was to have 2 people on the board in the same party as the current governor (in this case 2 democrats) yet O'gov has not selected a new board with 2 democrat's and one republican. They are still working under 2 republicans and 1 democrat.

I don't agree with the whole system. You change people overseeing something, and you open yourself up to a whole new group that doesn't know squat about that business. My issue isn't about the person's party, it's about what is supposed to be done. Makes me wonder if the governor even know they exist.

The whole business is an antiquated system which should have been dumped a long time ago.

It appears BC is about to be in on an unvieling of another Tax Payer scam. All this animosity is in their statements. It is like the rat getting cornered. They hunch their back, show their teeth and make sounds. They have lost their power. Then they attack and die.

OK, now you're pissing me off. How the "F" do YOU know that? I have seen the receipts and NO ONE from the LCB has denied Mrs. Prettyman purchased them at a LCB store. This is ridiculous.

I'll add, how dare YOU attack Mrs. Prettyman!

At least she's willing to stand up to the entire public with a name, who the "F" are you? BC? What the "F" is a name like that?

I'd say it's more like Ron Alessi?

We are lucky to have people like Gail and Stevie and the rest of the county council. Even the ones I didn't vote for haven't done enough to make me say that the county council doesn't have their act together.

Anyone who knows anything about the dispensary system will know that the one who wrote this was Justin, the general manager for the dispensaries. What is extremely surprising in that at least two of the board members are supposed to be "successful" businessmen. There were numerous lies in the paid advertisement. What is absolutely amazing to me is that the board allows the management to be so out of control. Have you all checked out the website, www.keep-it-safe.com? How much do you think that cost? Plenty, I can assure you. And how much did the 2 page ads in The Daily Times cost?
The bottom line is that private enterprise should handle the business of alcohol sales in Wicomico. This system is antiquated and it is because of the mindset of the likes of Haemel, Alessi, etc. that Wicomico remains unprogressive.
My question is... Why would Haemel and Alessi be so determined to fight the privatizing of alcohol sales in Wicomico? There is definitely something that doesn't meet the eye here and not for one minute do I believe it is all about Haemel and Alessi. It is all about all the "benefits" that Justin will be loosing. Get smart Stewart, Geraldine and Ron. You are being played for fools.

Geraldine? Is she a new board member? Or did you mean Cecilia Dennis? I worked there for 6 years and Cecilia always seemed to be the one with integrity.

That would make her the lone democrat on that board. She has the same problems that Debbie and Terry have, she always gets voted against. She was top notch in my book.

I heard she was going to be leaving, she probably finally got tired of the good ole boys.

Hey Joe, Did You Know The WCLCB/AKA
Liquor Dispensary Is regulated to Charge only 15% over Cost to Businesess in wicmico co.with A liquor Lic.since they are forced to
purchas there liquor from them. But have been Giving a 15% Discount
off of There Retail price.
Now this is where it gets good.
They mark up The liquor about 42%
maby 41% Thats about a 25 - 27% differance. I spend at least a $1,000.00 a wk. and over charged about $250.00 a wk. X 52 wk. X 8 yrs. Thats about $104.000.00 X at least 50 stores = over 5 mil. the hammer is coming down hard in wicomico co. taking the employees out to dinner is kittie litter!!!
there is a lot of pissed off busness owners in wicomico co.
Red Lobster Ect. Its my Money and I want it Now.

Right the liquor store gives a 15% discount to bars and restaurants. No discounts on half gallons. Ask any bar or restaurant owner in this county.

Sometimes the dispensory buys a couple months worth when it's a real good discount, but they don't pass those discounts on to the bars and restaurants or consumers.

Their payroll for the three county stores is well over $600,000 a year and that does not include health insurance and the other benefits.

Stevie, SHUT'EM DOWN. You've got my support and plenty of others.

Who is BC and why do we care what he/she has to say? If they are bonafide representative that knows what they're talking about they should not be embarassed to sign their real name. Otherwise they're just another crackpot with a computer.

You add two audit costs and two REGIS inventories a year and you can see why they turn so little over to the county. Compared to the county budget that comes to less than a whopping half percent of the county budget.

County audits didn't even show fuel theft costs for more than that, so $400,000 really isn't much in the grand sceme of things. From the looks of things it would never be missed. Of course that figure sounds good to people on the low end of the food chain.

I also doubt if restaurants and bars would lower prices of drinks, however they may be able to afford health insurance for their employees with the savings in liquor costs. Food costs have skyrocketed so look for menu prices to go up as well.

And don't forget about fuel surcharges added to delivery bills.

Hell restaurants will need the savings on liquor if it is privatized, especially if we are looking at another double digit tax hike next year and a 50% increase of water and sewer.

Restaurants use a lot of water. Lots of dishes to wash, and plenty of toilets to flush.

Holy Jim Beam Batman. Maybe we should let the campaign manager sell all the booze.
