Willie Nelson is considered an icon of country music and a living legend. Born in 1933 in the tiny Central Texas farming community of Abbott, Willie Nelson grew up in a world surrounded by music: The gospel songs of the grandparents who raised him; the blues and Mexican corridas that came from the cotton fields; the country and Western Swing that filled the airwaves from Nashville and Fort Worth...and the inner music that was inside of him.
After over 35 years of performing and over 100 albums under his belt, Willie Nelson is known as one of the greatest songwriters of all time, and an accomplished guitar player. Outside the recording studio, Nelson established himself as a champion for the family farmer with his annual Farm Aid concerts and now sits on the Board of Directors of Habitat for Horses.

Willie Nelson, is this the best the civic center can do to bring in a top act ??? If so, i feel very sorry for them and the people of salisbury. Maybe it is time to build a much larger civic center for some top name acts.If u build it, they will come !!!
Let's get it right. Willie Nelson is NOT returning because he never made it here to begin with. The last time he was to play at the Whorebirds Stadium it was cancelled due to a storm. The only one that made it here was Bob Dylan and he soon left as well.
Correction, 1:01 Willie played the Civic Center about 20 years ago, I was there.
Way too much to see him. I bet he doesnt even play for an hour.
But no need to build anything bigger, i dont think they ever sell out any type of concert anyway.
Yee haw! I am ready for some bad assed, stripped down outlaw country music!
If I'm lucky, I'll get really good seats and a free contact buzz to boot.
he must need another tax break-did you see the video where his daughter kiked a patron off the stage at a concert?
I wouldn't mind seeing Willie. He is a legend and he won't be around forever. Yup, I had tickets to see Bob Dylan and Willie at the stadium, then that dang hurricane skirted the coast.
I showed up in a rubber poncho, shin high rubber boots, I figured it was going to be called off but had my hopes up and was ready to stand out in the pouring rain to see them both.
Dylan has done two excellent shows here, another that won't be around forever and wouldn't mind seeing him again without the three hour drive there and back.
