Republican Congressional Candidate Andy Harris

Friends,

On Saturday, our campaign lost a member of our team. Our campaign consultant, Tom Blakely died after collapsing at a 5k run. Tom's death came as a shock to all of us. He was a 46 year old Marine Corps veteran. Tom was a great American. His love for politics was second only to his love for his wife and two young daughters. Our campaign is very saddened by this loss. Tom's wife and two daughters are in our thoughts and prayers.

Tom Blakely was the President of a Jamestown Associates, a GOP consulting firm. Blakely had a long resume of consulting on campaigns across the country. In 2006, he consulting for Tim Walberg's Republican primary victory over Michigan incumbent Representative Joe Schwarz. Blakely served as Director of Appointments for Governor Christine Todd Whitman.

Please keep Tom's wife Debbie and his two young daughters in your thoughts and prayers.

Andy

Funny how some people think that by insulting you, it will make you back down. If you don't like what he has to say then stay off the site. Freedom is every citizen's right so go exercise yours somewhere else. The rest of us are actually enjoying the news for the first time in years! I never realized how many people, in this community, want to shove their thoughts down others throats...wow. It's like a time warp to 1958. Keep it up, it's news and entertainment rolled into one!

What are the platforms of the candidates for the MD Cong 1st district?

What are their positions on the extremely important issues that face the citizens of Maryland as we proceed into the future?

What are they claiming to be able to accomplish in the first 12 to 24 months?

With whom will they work to compromise and move forward legislation that will truly offer successful solutions to deep problems in our economy, universal health care, development of alternative sources of energy, saving the Social Security and pension system, to name just a few.

This site was listed on Google News this morning because on candidate has raised more money than the other. The comments I've read this morning so far deal with personal attacks of the previous and current Maryland governor.

We are all tired of the old song and dance.

We will no longer follow the old line that the other party is the enemy!

If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. Get out of the way.

A hard rain is going to come.
