The Daily Times Is Full Of Sh!t!
OK, let's look at the first statement made in today's paper. Did any of YOU know that Station 16 was in fact "on the market?" I sure didn't and I've offered to pay cash for it! Oh, but they don't LIE, right? They offer you INVESTIGATIVE and detailed reporting, right?
How about this one? "The best piece of real estate in Wicomico County." Are you F/N kidding me? OK Folks, now you know who NOT to go to when you list your home or business for sale.
I have certainly seen enough this morning to make me want to throw up. There are real estate ads EVERYWHERE in this paper. It's now like the Ocean City Today, Beachcomber and Coastal Dispatch! Like I said, you have to get through the ads to find an article and that's what The Daily Time is becoming.
Oh well, this is just going to make my job even easier to compete and I'm confident people here will enjoy Salisbury News more than they will The Daily Times. Thanks again Gannett and Greg Bassett.

Have you considered the number of properties for sale is due largely in part to our esteemed mayor and her council of 3?
Yeh, Joe. The Disgrace is on the way out and has been for some time. I can remember back when it was an evening newspaper and then Boscov came to town and wanted their adds in a morning paper, so the Disgrace changed. Problem is that change also meant you don't get any news from the night before, like ball scores and police situations. Yep, they are slowly killing off the newspaper and your blog is taking over as the only real source of local news.

Why is Station 16 being valued at far less than the crumbling Daily Times building? There is property that goes with station 16 that goes down to the river, is that being considered as surplus also? Why is station 16 being valued at less than the old city hall building? It doesn't even go near the river.
The real question is why is the mayor so willing to take nearly a million dollar loss on station 16? Is the low price tag to keep it affordable for her beloved arts council that failed so miserably with the Boulevard theater?
Always questions in this city that never get answers?
Why are we doling out Developer welfare to build even more housing when everywhere you look there are FOR SALE signs? Anybody have a number on how many homes are for sale in this city and county?
You know its for that very reason that I cancelled my subscription for this newspaper! I refuse to pay for the load of crap that comes out of that thing...hopefully, the rest of the folks that pay money for that load of crap will stop as well! You are the real news and you should be extremely proud of that FACT! Keep up the great work...
sory to informyou the firehouse property does not extend to the river. only to the side street on that side of the building. if it was firehouse property yhe firmen would cut the grass ther. all the work like that is done by city yard
That piece of property at station #16 that goes down to the canal, I wonder if that is what was talked about during that closed session meeting?
I quit buying that paper when they started using colored ink, how many years ago was that? Can't use it in the garden for mulch due to the chemicals in the colors. It used to serve a purpose. Now I just go to the landfill and pay the 10 bucks for a load of mulch.
It has recently been discovered that the fire station deed still shows it being owned by the volunteer corporation. I'm sure that her highness has not thought about this snag in her plan. Once she finds out, you can bet her boys will threaten and intimidate them to hand over the property. The volunteers should hold on to it for a while.
The vollies should tell her to kiss their collective asses. She has taken enough from them, including control of their bank account.
Joe, although Im sure you will tell me it is irrelevent, they did name the source of the information which makes me think it is from a source that is supposed to be knowledgable in these areas, maybe not. This is a little different than posting information from an anonymous source as sound factual information. At least if the daily crime was wrong, you could point the finger at the people they cited for their information and say they dont know what the hell they are talking about..
That was a nice advertisement for SVN Miller, wasn't it?
You offered to pay cash. Then you offered to start the bidding at auction at 250K. Which is it Joe?
anonymous 7:38,
Are you really that stupid? I said I'd start the bid at $250,000.00 cash and I'd purchase it for whatever "I" felt it was worth and I'd pay cash. Let me be even more specific about the "cash" end of it. This means there would be no contingencies on the deal and nothing to slow the sale down. In other words, I wouldn't be going to a Bank to borrow the money.
That $6.5 million new press they bought, when do you think they will approach the city council for a tax break on all of their new equiptment?
I don't know if the WWTP is pumping crap in the river again, but I do believe I smell it coming from here.
If you won't buy their paper they will get your money through a tax break subsidy. It's a win, win for them.
There are 848 single family homes listed for sale on the MLS in Wicomico County right this minute. This does not count the FSBO's.
Zillow shows only about 20 - 30 closings a month. You can do the math as to how many months worth of supply their currently is. Not pretty.
