What started out 2 years ago as a $14,000,000.00 Fire Station was suddenly reduced to a $10,000,000.00 Fire Station and THAT convinced the City Council, (at the time) that it was now worthy of building.
As it stands, the Salisbury Fire Department is one of the most expensive Fire Stations in the World. And everyone wonders why tens of millions of dollars just disappears and then pops back up again?

I just happened to see on WBOC's website that now the salisbury FD is calling station #2 unsafe. Bill Gordy says they will either remodel or rebuild? Wouldn't this 10 million have been better spent on several different smaller departments placed throughout the city, like down near the mall? This whole mess makes zero sense to me.
I suppose the heavy cost for this fire station is the result of putting it on a former cranberry bog, or some such bog, and therfore requiring long and heavy pilings be driven to insure stability of the building as the earth below it shifts regularly.
Seems to me they could have found a better site for the station and saved a few million. I'd also like to know just what is going in this facility that could cost lots of dollars. I have heard there will be an execise room with lots of "toys" for body building included, all at our expense, I guess?

Bill Gordy says.... Who is the chief Bill Gordy or David See? If Bill Gordy is making all the decisions then what are we paying David See to do? That building was built in 1930 and it was built much better than the $10 million McMansion in the Ghetto. You all need to get Barrie Tilgman out there as fast as possible to prevent her from continuing to rape the tax payers. And don't forget to make her take those 3 FD clouns with her.
Hey I recognize that man in the last picture. That is the the Troll with the Bad Combover. Kind of gives us a timeline as to when he started cutting that bad combover. Now he is known as the Baldheaded Troll. Joe, any idea when he started cutting the bad combover by looking through you pictures?
Nothing wrong with an in house gym. It will get used alot more than the YMCA memberships that the station 1 vollies bought for their membership a year or so back. Talk about a waste of funds

How do you know the members of Station 1 aren't working out at the YMCA? Are you stalking them or just talking shit on here hoping someone will believe you. Don't all the stations have or had work out equipment that was never or rarely used?
Honestly a work out facility and mandatory workout time is needed. There are quite a few people in the SFD that need to be in better shape. I am just waiting to hear about someone dropping dead from a heart attack there.
