A fire alarm went off in Delmar Elementary School just moments ago. Delmar, Salisbury & Hebron Fire Departments responded. ALL Students were relocated to the Portables while the Fire Department aired out the school from smoke.
I just saw Hebron pass by my home, so they have everything under control and no one was hurt. More to come........
UPDATE: A commenter stated it was an electrical box smoking. What they didn't say was that it was clearly enough danger to remove ALL of the Students and have the Fire Department open as many windows as they could to remove all the smoke from the School. They also brought in fans to help speed up that process. Read the comments for more updates.
UPDATE #2, Everything is back to normal at the School. It was an electrical box that started smoking and they used precautionary measures to make sure things didn't get any worse. The system automatically sent an alarm to the Fire Department and everyone responded and took care of the situation.

This could be true. I spoke with one of the Fire Fighters there who told me they "put it out."
It is too early to speak to someone at the School and it could have been smoke only.
What I can firmly say is ALL of the Students were relocated to the Portables and everyone did a great job.
Being there was a lot of smoke, they were doing everything they could to get the smoke removed and get back to normal, if possible.
I can't get everything right, Mr. Anonymous but you can't tell me Fire Fighters like to LIE to us, can you?
I trusted what they said, I was not in the building and as you do NOT see this anywhere else, WMDT, WBOC & The Daily Times, I was there covering it as best as I could.
No matter what happened, people were in danger and from what I've been told, no one was hurt. I also ended with, more to come......
Is there something going on in Nanticoke this morning? A bunch of equipment, with sirens and all, were headed that way about an hour ago.

Hey where there is smoke there is fire. So obviously something was on fire. Ever heard of a water can or fire extingshier don't have to use hose on all of them. So I have Joe's back on this one and I am Firefighter.
You don't put out electrical fires with water, you fool. You guys on the eastern shore sure are stupid. Keep up the good work Joe.

As appose to you guys pushing each other out of the way at fires along with turning other companies air bottles off while they're using them while in a smoke/fire filled structure. You are so stupid. Read the comment again. It was a general statement that you don't always have to have hose lines laid out to put a fire out, that you could use a can, or an extinguisher if the fire is small enough. Way to show your stupidity Mr. PG County.
I do not believe any fire was put out. The electric was turned off to the building and the electrical box stopped smoking. DES staff need to be recommended on a great job of getting the students out, and then back to the portables as quickly as possible due to the tempatures. And not once did they seem in the way. It has to be pretty scary for a kid to be walking through smoke.

No you don't put out electrical fires with water. I am a firefighter here on the eastern shore. and not all of us are stupid. but there are a few bad apples. However I do agree that you don't need hoselines for every fire.
Looks like segregation going on. Larry is kinda standing off to himself from the two other fire fighters. Come on Joey I figured you would of picked up on this by now and mad a issue out of it like you normally do
