Hat Tip To The Salisbury Fire Department

Tonight at 7:00pm The Salisbury Fire Department (all 3 stations) will be doing a "After the Fire" saturation of the neighborhood including Washington Street where the fire was. They are checking for working Smoke/Fire Detectors, giving them away and installing them as they go if needed. If the homeowner is not home they will leave a letter stating they will come back to do what is needed.

KUDOS SFD!

CHIEF SEE, THIS REACTIVE. NOR PROACTIVE.

Salisbury Fire Department typically does this program after a serious fire. Thankfully it’s been sometime since we’ve suffered a fire of this magnitude with such a great loss of life. Please keep the little girl and her family in your prayers during the Christmas holiday and special thanks to the public for supporting those firefighters & family dealing with this loss. That's because he has never been a real firefighter. He has always used the city and the fire department to get free training so he can travel for free.

Hey anonymous, SHUT UP. Even though I may disagree with some of what See does, this is not the time for bashing. Where were you 3:40 A.M. when that whole family lost their lives,at home in bed? Chief See wasn't, he was at the scene supporting the Incident Commander any way he could.

Joe, I personnaly appreciate the coverage of this event. We just completed the "After fire program" and with what I feel much success. To my knowledge we exhausted our entire stock of smoke detectors and will be returning to install ones in homes we inspected after we ran out. It's unbelievable the warmth my group received from the people we visited. Most commented on our hard it must be on us to not have been able to save the family this past weekend. Yes it's hard, but we will continue on with our heads high, knowing we did everything in our power to save them.

So to everyone, please check your smoke detectors & have a safe, wonderful holiday.

Tonight my brothers and sisters and I went out into the Washington St neighborhood area and knocked door to door checking on residents to see if they had operable smoke detectors. It turned out to be very, very successful! So many people were happy and thankful to see us! It was very nice to see everyone working together. Both career and volunteer ff's were involved in this effort. I want to thank all the residents for a warm welcome and friendly hospitality.

If you have a beef with See this is not the place for it.
