With a prior history like this, why would this person even be hired as a deputy in the Sheriff's department?
Ask Hunter Nelms & Doris Schonnbrunner...They hired him.
He must have known one of them very well or been friendly with them if you know what I mean.
I wouldn't call it a prior history. Both of the cases Joe listed are civil cases and not criminal. Perhaps they had a verbal spat and she decided that she didn't want him around anymore. The great thing about civil court is that you don't have to have any proof to file a complaint.
Police are often (not always) authoritarian and aggressive personalities, and the women attracted to these personality traits like their men to be dominant and authoritative until that gets boring and annoying.
The smarter cops keep it under control, and the less smart ones don't. If the force caught and fired every cops who laid hands on his SO (and interestingly it's often the women who start the physical attack part of the altercation) you'd lose at least 50% of every police force in the US.

50% - THAT IS A HUGE NUMBER.
Under NO circumstances should a man put his hands on a woman, I don't care if she is hitting you like a man. A man is ALWAYS STRONGER THAN A WOMAN.
For what he has done to those kids, well lets just say he should be made unable to ever reproduce.
I am not suprised about his past.I am not generalizing all cops but the profession attracts some very dominant authoritarian & aggressive males.
Where did anonymous 12:53 get their statistics from. Show us the research please. The bottom line here is that the guy commited the acts before he was ever hired. In other words he should have never been hired.
i know for a fact, that she had reason to file those charges against him.....sad to say but i am that girl, and he was very violent and very aggressive. i ended up dropping the charges because i thought i was so in love, and i didnt want him to lose his job as a then OCPD, looking back i wish i never dropped the charges. he deserves everything thrown at him, i can only imagine how devastated the family of the little girls must be (which i have heard one of them was his own step daughter)-he actually married the woman he was cheating on me with... so sad.
