BREAKING NEWS – 2nd Suspect Arrested in Christmas Airline Attack

A second Nigerian suspect has been arrested in the attempted attack on a Northwest Airlines flight from Amsterdam to Detroit.  Law enforcement officials had said that the suspect had locked himself in one of the plane’s restrooms.

Delta Air Lines spokeswoman Susan Elliott said crew members requested that security remove the man from Flight 253 after he became disruptive. The remaining 255 passengers got off safely, she said.

Missing Persons - Has Anyone Seen These People???

Has anyone seen any of these people, over the past week? While nearly 500 members of law enforcement and other emergency personnel, from all over the States of Maryland, Delaware, Virginia and Massachusetts could be found, these folks seem to have disappeared from the face of the earth. A Senator from Delaware called and offered any and all resources to find Sarah Haley Foxwell. While 3,000 to 4,000 volunteers showed up at the request of Sheriff Mike Lewis, none of these people could be found. These are the people we elected to office, to write laws, to protect us from the evil that is Thomas James Leggs, Jr.

Although our local, county and city politicians are not responsible for writing legislation at the state and federal level, they are responsible for the safety and well being of the citizens of Wicomico County and the City of Salisbury.

Updated: Five of our local representatives responded to the horrific events of last week.

Joe Holloway, Wicomico County Councilman, was at the Perdue Stadium as a regular citizen concerned about Sarah Haley Foxwell. He wasn't giving a thought to his political position, he was there to offer any assistance needed to find this child.

Terry Cohen, City Council Member, attempting to celebrate the holidays with family, has been and is still in constant communication with people in the community. Not as a politician but as a concerned citizen and mother.

Stevie Prettyman, County Council Member, attempting to celebrate the holidays has also been in constant communication with members of the community. Again, not as a politician but as a concerned parent and member of our community.

Jim Ireton, Mayor of Salisbury, hospitalized due to a fall, immobilized due to compound fractures of his foot, called to make inquiries.

John Cannon, County Council Member, was at Perdue Stadium on Christmas Day. He too was there as a concerned citizen and not a politician otherwise, we would have known he was there. (My apologies, John)

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THE REST OF OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS?

Of all our elected officials, only five were capable of putting politics aside and take time away from their family and holiday events to inquire and express concern. This is a very sad statement. This is a statement that will be remembered, especially during the upcoming November election.

Our dimwit of a Governor, while making necessary budget cuts, found it reasonable to cut $369,000 from the Sex Offender Program. Couldn't he find somewhere else to cut, like MDOT, SHA, DGS, or other departments? Maryland has some of the best paved roads in the country yet he opts to cut Public Safety, specifically the Sex Offender Program. I guess as long as he is safe he doesn't give a rat's ass about anyone else. Gotta make those cuts. God forbid he cut something like the budget for the Governors Office or one of the many feel good programs.

As Mike Lewis stated Friday night on WBOC "this case screams death penalty". I and many more agree 100%. However, our dimwit Governor thinks otherwise. If he had his way no criminal would ever be threatened with capital punishment in this state. He and his bleeding heart supporters would prefer the taxpayers warehouse these animals, while law abiding citizens and victims pay the price for their crimes. I got news for O'Malley, Sarah Haley Foxwell paid the ultimate price for your cuts and bill against the death penalty. Our community is paying the price. All citizens of the State of Maryland are paying the price.

On March 26,2009 the Maryland House of Delegates approved a bill requiring specific evidence of guilt if the death penalty is sought. The same bill was passed earlier by the Senate, and the governor supports the legislation. Calling it a "step forward," Gov. O’Malley indicated he will sign the bill, limiting capital cases to those with biological or DNA evidence of guilt, a videotaped confession, or a videotape linking the defendant to a homicide.

T.J. Leggs was not caught on video nor did he record his heinous act(s). We were told repeatedly that he would not cooperate so it's not likely Mike Lewis or any other member of Law Enforcement, including the FBI, got a video taped confession. The only thing we have to rely on is solid forensic evidence, if we are to seek the death penalty.

In a March 26, 2009 interview with the Washington Post, Del. Patrick L. McDonough (R Baltimore County)said "You have cleverly and successfully killed the death penalty in Maryland," who argued that the bill's restrictions are so strict that prosecutors will not be able to bring capital cases. This summer when all of these politicians show up at the Tawes Crab & Clam Bake and are campaigning locally, I hope everyone remembers Sarah Haley Foxwell. While they are telling you whatever it is they think you want to hear, only to get your vote, Remember, it's your vote, use it with extreme prejudice.

Officer Involved Shooting In Sussex County: UPDATE

Sussex County: Warrants have been approved for Chad Fulginiti. The charges are as follows:

Burglary (felony)- Fulginiti had unlawfully entered the automotive shop at the Lewes Auto Mall (17861 Coastal Highway, Lewes, Delaware) where he damaged the vehicle mentioned in the first Updated News Release
Criminal Mischief (misdemeanor)- Damaged the vehicle again mentioned in the first Updated Release
DUI (traffic offense)
Disregarding a Police Officer’s Signal (felony)- led Troopers on a high speed vehicle pursuit along the Route 1 corridor

Mr. Fulginiti has been transported to Christiana Hospital for treatment to his hand. He is expected to arraigned later today or tomorrow.

Sussex County: The following information outlines the initial investigation into the officer involved shooting which occurred earlier this evening.

At approximately 2:43 p.m., a female subject called 911 to report a domestic related argument between herself and her husband- Chad M. Fulginiti, 38, of Millsboro. The caller advised the initial incident occurred on Route 24 in the area of Burton’s Pond Road. The female said she got out of the vehicle, a gray Nissan pick-up, and her husband fled the scene. The female told the 911 operator that her husband was distraught and suicidal.

A short time later, the female advised she discovered the suspect had taken his handgun from their home.

Allegedly, Fulginiti next drove to the Lewes Auto Mall, to CP Diver, where he located a vehicle belonging to a subject he believed was romantically involved with his wife. The suspect then significantly damaged this vehicle.

Units began to check the area and located the Nissan pick up on Van Dyke Street in the development of Bayside. By this time, a Delaware State Police Crisis Management Team Member was on the phone with the suspect. Fulginiti pulled out onto Route 1 and started southbound.

For the next hour, the suspect drove along the Route 1 corridor, while continuing to talk to officers on the phone. During the phone conversations, Fulginiti confirmed that he was armed. He also threatened to harm himself and ram a police car.

The Nissan eventually pulled into the development of South Shores Marina on Marina Drive. The DSP units converged in on the development and set up a perimeter to keep the suspect from fleeing again.

Troopers continued to speak with Fulginiti in an attempt to end this situation peacefully. The suspect was angry and threatened ‘suicide by cop.’ He threatened that he was going to harm himself and other people. Troopers attempted to keep Fulginiti at bay, however, he started to flee the scene in a reckless manner at which time a Trooper fired his departmentally issued weapon a single time, striking the suspect in the hand.

The Nissan came to a stop and the suspect was taken into custody. First aid was immediately rendered and the suspect was transported from the scene to Beebe Hospital.

The Trooper involved in this shooting is a 7-year-veteran of the Delaware State Police assigned to Troop 7 in Lewes. He has been placed on administrative duty pending the outcome of this investigation. His name will be provided to the media tomorrow.

This investigation is continuing and charges are pending. An additional news release, including a mug shot of Fulginiti, will be disseminated tomorrow when additional details are known and confirmed. This release will also contain the charging information.

A Mother's Worst Fear

"My story is hard to tell but needs to be heard..... i moved back to the eastern shore in October of 2001 from Annapolis. Things had changed, people had changed and i didn't know a lot of people here anymore so i went to work for my mom and started my life over... My sister turned 21 in July of 2003 and i took her out on the town being the older sister and we wound up at a local nightclub where i met my soon to be ex husband. Everybody there loved him. They all told me they had only known him a short time but truly seems genuine. After dating a few weeks he told me that he had to take these state mandated classes they were "no big deal" of course i asked what they were for he told me that when he was 18 he met a girl at a haunted park and they made out and her parents found out and pressed charges she was 15 at the time. Which was a similar story he told everyone at the bar... well to me kids will be kids that wasn't anything to hang over someones head for the rest of their life....boy was i wrong....

I got pregnant while on birth control and i figured i am a mature 25 year old adult i will do the right thing so we got married and my daughter was born on June 2 2004 and the nightmares began. A few days after my daughter was born, my soon to be ex husband was arrested for sexually assaulting the girl across the street... he swore it was a set up someone targeting him just for having his picture on the sex registry. I believed him... i fought for him and he was found not guilty after being retained in Jessup for my daughters first 10 months of her life... then when he came home he was never here.. always out with guys, shooting pool, working extra shifts in a bar, you name it he did everything except be a father or a husband.

On March 28 2006, we were shooting pool together on a league at a local bar and when i came out of the bathroom i saw my soon to be ex husband with his hands down another woman's pants playing the mega touch machine.... My mouth dropped i was in shock if he did this when i am in the same building what was he doing when i wasn't with him.... i kicked him out that night. However i am still being to nice at this point in time because we drew up a guideline of visitation, child support everything including the fact that he didn't want my daughter left with his own parents or have her stay at there house for more than an hour... From April till June i let him visit my daughter twice a week as agreed upon. In the beginning he didn't even visit with her he chased me around the house making threats starting fights i had to call the police to get him to stop cursing me and threatening me. He got so violent and irate with me it was bad for her so i would leave the house for a hour so they could spend quality time together only my idea of quality and his idea of quality defiantly have two different definitions.. that was my biggest mistake ever. i left my daughter with a monster.... during one of his episodes he punches holes in the hallway of my house because my daughter wouldn't stop crying.. my daughter acted out his behaviors at 2 years old.. a couple weeks go by and i was giving my daughter a bath and i was on the phone with a friend and when i went back into the bathroom after getting a towel out of the hallway my daughter was inserting a baby nemo toy into her vagina and i gasped and said" what are you doing?" she replied with " nemo is giving me kisses" i was in shock to say the least and my girlfriend told me i had to calm down and take her to er for exam. Social services was called and an exam was done that said her Hyman was intact but there were cuts and bruises that could be self inflicted but the behavior is learned... the hospital and social services told me that excessive petting and touching is almost impossible to prove and that without rock solid evidence or a confession don't expect anything to come of this. He was asked by social services to take a lie detector test and he declined and the the case was closed. I immediately put my daughter into counseling where she has been ever since and still continues to go. She had to relearn what was appropriate touching, who is and isn't aloud to touch there, etc...My soon to be ex husband also became very violent with me. There were many times he would throw objects at me threaten to kill me if i kept her from him you know the rest; same story different girl i had to get a protective order to protect myself and my little girl...The order expired in July of 2007 i was worried i was going to have to battle for divorce yet nothing so my lawyer and i decided to give him a year to make a move...NOTHING... he only ever made four child support payments,so he is behind a little over $14000.00, he lives six houses away from me and no note, no knock on the door nothing done by him to show he cared or wanted to be a part of her life

In September of 2008, i amended my divorce papers to read i want sole custody; no visitation for the father and the father is to have no obligation to the child; no child support no visits, surrender your rights to her and i will leave you alone forever.... he now is fighting me for joint custody and visitation. i just cannot do it.... i failed my daughter once by leaving her alone with the worst monster any mother fears....I am now being told that he is probably going to get supervised visitation and i am not OK with that why, because our state gives fathers the right to their children no matter what their criminal background is. I didn't have enough evidence to convict him of assaulting his own child, her testimony and acting out what daddy did wasn't enough .... put yourself in my four year old daughter shoes... she has to sit a a table with a man she doesn't know that sexually assaulted her when she was too little to know better... and what is she going to think of me for letting this happen when she gets old enough to understand everything.

I still to this day do not know the truth about what happened with why he is on the sex registry for Maryland other than he sexually assaulted little girls between the ages of 10 to 14 and in Delaware he raped a 16 year old girl all of which I found out after I threw him out of my house. This man has committed countless other uncharged sexual acts in our community but i cannot say what they are but i am asking for help... if he has assaulted you or someone you know help them take the steps forward to take action so this man can rot in jail for the rest of his life and so my daughter can have the normal life i have created for her... what is the old saying" you have to break the cycle for the abuse to stop" please help me break the cycle he can NEVER see her again.....

The first link is Maryland showing he has been convicted of sexually assaulting a child the second link is Delaware showing he was convicted of raping a girl between ages of 16 and 17...."

The balance of this story, (as I know it) is in the state of Maryland the laws need to change to protect the CHILD. Even this Father should respect the fact that he allegedly doesn't want to play the roll as a Father by paying child support and or consistent visitation to his own child. It seems that the only time he cares is when the Mother wants to take him away for all the right reasons. We need to contact our Senators and Congressmen to demand these laws be changed to better protect the child.

I personally know the Mother and Child in this case and feel their pain. Perhaps our new Congressman Frank Kratovil can open his busy schedule for this case and at least let this woman and child be heard. His past history as a States Attorney would certainly help her cause and quite frankly he could make one hell of a name for himself in the State for doing so.

BETTER CHILD PROTECTION IS NEEDED NOW

The appalling fact that there has been another massive failure of the governmental duty to protect innocent children from the monsters among us cannot be masked by the admirable conduct of the many citizens and law enforcement and fire/safety personnel who have been involved in the latest tragic episode. Public officials who operate or oversee the agencies charged with discharge of that duty must be held accountable and appropriate action taken promptly to prevent a recurrence.

Punishing the particular perpetrator in this and other instances does not address the greater problem that exists, which is both systemic and endemic. Sarah Foxwell’s brutal murder cannot be prevented at this late date, but it is not too late to prevent future tragedy of the kind to other children.

The upcoming session of the Maryland General Assembly is an opportunity for the members from the Lower Shore counties to take the lead in the State’s role. Local elected and other officials can take more immediate action. But will they?

11 Year Old Sarah Foxwell Murdered

In a Press Conference held at 6 PM tonight, Sheriff Lewis announced the murder of the 11 year old Sarah Foxwell. Her body was found on Hampton Court, off Melson Road.

While we do have additional detailed information on this case, it was announced that it is an ongoing investigation and that information will not be exposed, probably until a 6:00 PM or 11:00 PM Press conference can be held so the MSM can share in the knowledge of such said information without working for it.

To Sarah's Family, may she rest in peace. My heart is absolutely broken, I'm tired and I'm taking a day or two off.

At this time Melson Road is closed off to all traffic including residents. The command units have relocated to this area.

Please do not go to this area rubbernecking. Everyone is truly concerned but we need to let Law enforcement officials do their jobs. None of us want to jeopardize their case in any way.

Mike said "we have found nothing" He is also asking people to put a red ribbon on their mailbox showing they have searched their own property because people know their property better than they do.

They are concentrating their efforts on Morris Leonard Road and north to the Delaware line. They have had full cooperation from the Delaware State Police including use of their helicopter. A Senator from Delaware has offered all personnel and whatever else is needed.

Mike Lewis stated several new victims of Leggs have come forward.

Joe just called in and said everyone was sent home from the Stadium. Mike Lewis and Ernie Leatherbury are up in Trooper 4 at this time.

We are being told the press conference scheduled for 2:00 has been rescheduled until 2:30.

3,000+ Volunteers Showed Up Christmas Morning To Search For Sarah Foxwell

There were between 3,000 to 4,000 volunteers that showed up at Perdue Stadium at 6:30 this morning and hundreds more continue to show up throughout the day so far. As you can see from the photos above, thousands were inside the stadium while thousands more were still lining up and signing up to get in.

At one point, (as many of you know) we ran out of bottled water and wouldn't you know it, as soon as everyone heard, people came in, (in some cases by the truck load) and delivered at least 600 cases of water, THANK YOU! Culligan, Shore Water and Canada Dry showed up almost immediately in trucks, it was just unbelievable.

Food is a big priority right now, (also mentioned earlier). Look, I just can't thank you folks enough. Just think about this for a minute, if you will. This is Christmas Day and literally thousands upon thousands of people are doing everything in their powers to help look for this child. May God Bless You All.

I have to get back to work but while I don't want to speak for Sheriff Lewis, Davis Ruark, Earnie Leatherbury and Ivan Barkley, I will say these people, (as well as all law enforcement officers) are overwhelmed and humbled by your support. I have stood there throughout each day and listened to them share their thanks and each one of you should know that. They are working so hard to find this young child and I can just tell you they truly appreciate each and every one of you.

Authorities are asking everyone to search their own properties at this time. They have also asked that a red flag of some sort be posted on the property searched.

Rain is moving in and will make a mess of things. Please go out and search your yards, fields and farms.

Station 7 Needs Supplies at Stadium

Food is needed to help feed the 3,000 to 4,000 people that are volunteering in the search for Sarah Foxwell.

Station 7 has the ability to cook food such as hamburgers, hot dogs etc. If you bring hamburgers or hotdogs please bring rolls to go with them. Station 7 has bread to make sandwiches if you want to donate lunch meat and cheese, mustard, mayo. ketchup, peanut butter, and jelly. They are also in need of aluminum foil. Candy bars or anything along the lines of ready to eat foods.

Help Needed at Shorebirds Command Center

They are running out of water at the Shorebirds Stadium. Anyone that can donate bottled water is asked to bring it to the trailers by the main entrance. If you can help with this, please do. It is greatly appreciated and much needed.

UPDATE: They are also looking for donations of food. If you can donate anything to help feed all involved in the search for Sarah Foxwell, please take any food donations to the Station 7 trailer. Station 7 has been cooking and feeding people since they moved to the stadium and are running low.

UPDATE: Canada Dry has just donated 50 cases of water and is having them delivered at this time. Sharp Water just pulled up with a pickup load of bottled water. Many individuals have also dropped off cases of water. The kindness and generosity of our community is inspiring. To say Thank you, seems so trite.

UPDATE: A lady just called and said she purchased bottled water at a local convenience store and was charged the per bottle price for a case of water. Purchase price $37.00 per case.

UPDATE At this time Station 7 is asking that foods donated be prepared foods,or sandwiches. They are preparing for lunch at this time.

Suspect: George Burkley Ruark, 26 years old, Pittsville, Md.

Narrative: On 12/24/09 at approximately 2040 hours, Troopers responded to 34592 Pitts Ave, Pittsville, Md for a reported assault and malicious destruction of property in progress. Upon arrival Troopers met with complainant Katie Ruark who advised her intoxicated brother, George Burkley Ruark had been destroying everything in the house. Troopers were advised that George Ruark had taken their mother Diana Ruark at knife point in her 2007 Kia, Spectra, bearing Md registration 8DML87 possibly to Church Street in Salisbury Maryland to purchase drugs or to take him to Ocean City. A bolo was broadcasted and at approximately 2212 hours Berlin Police Department located the vehicle in their area. Ofc Hilliard with assistance of fellow officers conducted a felony traffic stop and George Ruark was taken into custody and turned over to the Maryland State Police of the Salisbury Barrack. Ruark was transported to Wicomico County Central Processing and charged

O'Malley Cut Funding To MD Sex Offender Unit

Martin O'Malley cut funding to the Maryland Division of Parole and Probation's Sex Offender Unit. The parole and probation officers monitoring sex offenders should never have had their hours reduced. Surely there must be something else Maryland can cut.

It is very rare for a union to criticize O'Malley. State workers are in there second round of furloughs. I don't know if this guy is currently on parole or probation. This is the article from this time last year.

Sheriff Lewis Asking for Citizen Assistance

Sheriff Lewis has asked that any citizens wishing to provide assistance in the search for Sarah Haley Foxwell, to come to Shorebirds Stadium, tomorrow morning, at 0700 or 7:00am. The search will continue to be well organized under direction of law enforcement and other officials. Sheriff Lewis has asked for hunters, familiar with the areas of Wicomico County they hunt to join in the search. There is still hope that this innocent child will be found alive. Let us not give up hope.

When asked about Leggs previous incarceration, Sheriff Lewis stated Leggs was not incarcerated long enough, to which Davis Ruark agreed.

This is a heavily wooded area that is being concentrated on. There is no confirmation of anything being found in this area, at this time.

A True Christmas Story

Last night, my sisters, my nieces and nephews, my brother-in-laws, my children and myself, went Christmas Caroling in Easton. This is a family tradition.

We noticed a car pass a couple times, but never really thought much about it. We were up at a house singing when this same car pulled up and stopped. We were coming down the drive-way when the door of the car opened up. Out of the car stepped a US Soldier, in full military uniform.

He had just returned from a tour in Afghanistan. He said that things like carolers and lights and so forth were things he really had missed. He thanked us for spreading the Christmas spirit.

He then asked us to sing for him. He asked for Silent Night, which was my mother’s favorite Christmas Song (she passed away the day after Christmas a few years ago.)

We sang Silent Night through our tears as well as a couple more songs for him. He attempted to pay us for singing, which we quickly declined. We told him he had already more than paid us. We all hugged him and thanked him.

We continued to sing carols around the neighborhood. He passed by a couple of times blowing the horn and waving.

I will never forget this experience. It has warmed my heart and made me very thankful for what I have.

Today's Update On Sarah Foxwell

The Wicomico County Sheriff's Department just held a Press Conference and we've been told there's no new news other than to say they have in fact brought in the National Guard and that they have expanded the search.

As you know, we'll keep you updated just as soon as new information comes in.

I'd like to thank Station 7 Restaurant and Applebee's for calling me this morning and letting me know they will be delivering food packages to the Command Center this morning. Station 7 is actually bringing their trailer up there to serve food whenever the search people want it.

UPDATE: WBOC is reporting wrong information. Perhaps they should send their Reporter home to get some sleep. After last night's grand standing and ticking everyone else off out there, today they are reporting they are searching 25 bodies of water. WRONG! They are searching 25 different areas and 2 bodies of water. Come on guys, get your information straight.

Last Night's Press Conference

Last night we posted a Press Release from WBI explaining the charges against Thomas Leggs. Sheriff Lewis expressed his concerns over this beautiful child now missing and shared there are more than 180 Police Officers alone searching areas in which they have solid leads on. The Sheriff went on to explain how all emergency personnel are also out in force searching high and low for Sarah Foxwell.

I can tell you while I was on location there were quite a few professional search and rescue people there from just about everywhere in the tri state area. Folks, I know you want to help but this is a team effort of true professionals trained to do just a search.

The Salisbury Dive Team was out last night searching different ponds in the area and quite frankly we provided a tip to the Sheriff's Department in which they were searching while we were there last night. I was informed there was enough evidence at the scene to bring in additional people for a better search.

Many of you have provided incredible information and that's the best we can do at this time. I'd like to clear up some confusion about who's who in this case. Many people believe the mother was raising Sarah but that just isn't the case. Sarah's Aunt was raising her along with other siblings. The Aunt was allegedly dating Tom Leggs. I cannot answer if she knew Tom's background but I'm sure we'll find that out at a later point.

Tom Leggs has quite a criminal history and I agree with many other people making comments, the laws need to change. In the mean time, while the Police are saying this is a search and rescue, others have stated it more a recovery search than anything else at this point. We'll just keep our fingers crossed she's in a place where she can survive until she is found.

While I do not encourage anyone attempting to go out and try to find Sarah, please keep your eyes open and should you come upon ANYTHING, remember, it's a crime scene any way you look at it and you could impede on an ongoing investigation. Folks, call 911 if you see anything at all.

It was a long night for me personally and I will do my best to get back to the Blog in the morning but I may be delayed as I'm going to try and get a few hours of sleep and dig right back into this in the morning.

By the way, THANK YOU! I have never received so many calls, e-mail messages and text messages on any other story we've ever produced. I did share many of them with the Sheriff and they are being looked into. Keep those prayers going and we'll be back in touch some time tomorrow morning.

For Their Next Trick...

Look for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to try to circumvent the traditional conference committee process by which the different versions of health care reform passed by each house will be reconciled. If so, it will be the latest example of violating principles of transparency and accountability in the single-minded pursuit of legislative victory.

Mr. Reid and Ms. Pelosi would love to come up with a way to bash heads in private and skip any public discussion that further reveals just how incoherent and unworkable both the bills are. Luckily, there is a subterfuge readily available that wouldn't require the House to swallow the Senate's bill unchanged but also ducks the traditional give-and-take of the conference committee.

But serious dialogue isn't what Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Reid are interested in right now. Look for the traditional conference committee to be replaced by a "ping-pong" game in which health care is finalized behind closed doors with little public scrutiny before the bill is rushed to the floor of each chamber for a final vote.

President BARACK OBAMA was invited to address a major gathering of the American Indian Nation two weeks ago in upstate New York.

He spoke for almost an hour about his plans for increasing every Native American's present standard of living. He referred to his time as a U.S. Senator and how he had voted for every Native American issue that came to the floor of the Senate.

Although President Obama was vague about the details of his plans, he seemed most enthusiastic and spoke eloquently about his ideas for helping his "red sisters and brothers."

At the conclusion of his speech, the Tribes presented Obama with a plaque inscribed with his new Indian name, "Walking Eagle.." The proud President then departed in his motorcade to a fundraiser, waving to the crowds.

A news reporter later asked the group of chiefs how they came to select the new name they had given to the President.

They explained that "Walking Eagle" is the name given to a bird so full of sh!t it can no longer fly.

Fuel for this car was sold in drug stores only

Only 14 percent of the homes had a bathtub.

Only 8 percent of the homes had a telephone.

There were only 8,000 cars and only 144 miles of paved roads.

The maximum speed limit in most cities was 10 mph.

The tallest structure in the world was the Eiffel Tower !

The average wage in 1909 was 22 cents per hour.

The average worker made between $200 and $400 per year ...

A competent accountant could expect to earn $2000 per year,

A dentist $2,500 per year, a veterinarian between $1,500 and $4,000 per year, and a mechanical engineer about $5,000 per year.

More than 95 percent of all births took place at HOME .

COUNTY EXECUTIVE’S COUNCIL ON PHYSICAL FITNESS AND HEALTHY LIVING TO KICK OFF ON DECEMBER 29TH

In his “State of the County” address on December 18th, Wicomico County Executive Richard M. Pollitt, Jr. announced that his Council on Physical Fitness and Healthy Living, an initiative that Mr. Pollitt promised to start in last year’s “State of the County” address, will kick off on Tuesday, December 29th, at 11:00 A.M. at Youth Exercise Services (Y.E.S) in Fruitland.

In last year’s address, Mr. Pollitt said that the fitness initiative would begin with him. Since that time, Mr. Pollitt has lost 30 pounds and has been working out at the Y.E.S. gym under the supervision of trainer Fred VanderVeen who agreed to take on Mr. Pollitt as “a project.” In the December 18th speech, the County Executive said, “If I could reverse a lifetime of bad habits and get in shape at my age, others would be motivated to give it a try as well.” Mr. Pollitt promises to give a brief demonstration of his work-out routine at the kick-off event.

The Council is chaired by former Green Bay Packer and Washington Senator star Tom Brown, a well-known and highly respected proponent of youth sports activities in Wicomico County. Assisting Mr. Brown on the organizational efforts of the past year have been leadership staff from the Health Department, the Board of Education, county and city government and local businesses. All will be present and introduced at the event.

Mr. Pollitt said that the Council will be primarily a public information resource of available fitness and health-related programs. The council will have a web site directly linked to the county website and will also utilize all communication tools available.

“We shall focus on bringing greater attention to issues such as childhood obesity, workplace fitness, senior athletics and many other key health issues,” said Pollitt.

Narrative: On Wednesday morning, December 23, 2009, @ approximately 10:00AM, Wicomico County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Wicomico Bureau of Investigation initiated an investigation into the apparent abduction of eleven year old Sarah Haley Foxwell of Salisbury. As a result of this investigation, authorities have identified a suspect who has been taken into custody by the Wicomico Bureau of Investigation. The suspect is identified as thirty (30) year old Thomas James Leggs, a resident of Bennett Road in Salisbury. Leggs has been charged with one count of KIDNAPPING and one count of first degree BURGLARY and is awaiting his initial appearance before a district court commissioner.

Thomas Leggs is a registered SEX OFFENDER living here in Wicomico County. Eleven year old Sarah Foxwell remains missing and is the focus of a massive ORGANIZED ground search. Tomorrow morning, those assisting in the ground search will be tasked with searching several square miles of densely wooded areas which are surrounded by frozen tundra, fresh-water ponds and many fields. There are residential areas to be searched as well.

The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office has been overwhelmed with the number of law enforcement agencies who have responded from across the state and are currently assisting in this search. We are requesting the public to PLEASE allow us to do our jobs and refrain from conducted their own search and contaminating a potential crime scene. Manipulation Of The Numbers And The Lives Of Americans

I have to share this with you. Recently I made the decision to lay off two of my employees. It came after great consideration that I decided I had no other option. Both Employees have been with me for over a year and it was like breaking bad news to two friends. I have been making the required payments to the State of Maryland AND the federal government as required because I didn't want to be the subject of an audit or fines. BUT when my guys went to file for unemployment they were instructed to wait until the following quarter and file again. This notification was made by mail with instructions to call a number if there were any questions. Both employees have been trying for the past week and a half to call but never get more than a busy signal. Both employees have worked continuously for me since they became employed. Since I learned of this I have had the occasion to speak to several people who are experiencing the same issues with unemployment. It seems that the rumors I'm hearing may be true. Unemployment is running out of money and they are denying everyone initially as a matter of unwritten policy, in order to save money and to keep the number of new people signing up for unemployment falsely low to make it appear that the economy is getting better when everyone who is in business knows that isn't the case. My employees have resorted to writing letters to unemployment, but letter writing doesn't feed their families. Have you heard of anyone going through the same thing?
