Hey Joe here is a story that hasn't broke about the child porn distribution. The 66 year old Richard rathel currently is the volunteer president of SFD station 2. I also like to add that he is the second Retired Salisbury firefighter that has been arrested or convicted for child crimes the 1st being retired salisbury paramedic Bruce Fowler. Both of these Gentlemen served together back in the late SFD when SFD had so many retire back in 03. Just a little less service time between the 2. Richard rathel son also was terminated for misconduct involving a female and gang reflex on the back of a SFD ambulance. Seems to me that apparently SFD has a lot of hidden sexual secrets and maybe some investigation and enlightenment by SBY news would be much more better read then the article WMDT posted.

I find it very disturbing that they have hired people that have been in trouble ones that have even committed vile acts in other fire departments paid or volunteer and it was covered by someone who later lost their job in Worcester County for doing the same thing funny thing is they hold their nose up to other people that have been in trouble around the communities they live in I’m glad some of their secrets are coming out.

The two people kicked out of Salisbury fire department for unnecessary training involving a laryngoscope showing a student how to intubate was named Bobby and Wayne. I'm not going to give their last name because they should have never been fired in the first place. Had nothing to do with Richard Rathel. That being said, I really hope this is not true because Richard was a great person. He was one of the great fireman that went through the department. Never bothered anybody and was always there backing you up. I would say wait until you hear the facts on this one.

Ricky was an excellent firefighter. I don’t know the particulars of this case but it is easy to tell which SFD farmin is making comments. In the paid man handbook it states when a person is down,kick them again. The whole department reeks of bigoted individuals. I am not condoning him but leave his family out of it.

Here is a thought that just occurred to me. This Perv was an EMT so he rode in the back of the ambulance with many children while he was working as an Emergency Medical Technician for the Salisbury Fire Department. Does anyone think he violated children or took pictures?? Kids do get sick and he had the opportunity to ride in the back with them alone.

I think this is a question worth asking. Has Mare Jake Day or Acting Mare Julia Glanz made a statement on the arrest of this retired firefighter and current volunteer firefighter, Rick Rathel?
What about Fire Chief John Tull, has he made a statement on the arrest of Rick Rathel yet? It's obvious the Salisbury Fire Department is plagued with criminals and sex offenders and this happened under his watch as a Deputy Chief and now the current Chief. John Tull also worked with Rick Rathel for many years.
