MINNEAPOLIS -- Americans are buying guns in record numbers.
The new coronavirus pandemic, civil unrest after the killing of George Floyd and the ensuing movement to defund police are bringing in new buyers worried about their personal safety, according to buyers, store owners and gun experts.
Gun sales began rising to unusual highs in March, as coronavirus cases began surging in the U.S. and government-ordered lockdowns led to the highest unemployment levels since the Great Depression. The Federal Bureau of Investigation processed 7.8 million background checks for gun purchases from March to June, according to National Shooting Sports Foundation, a firearms industry trade group.

Don’t worry about it. Just carry if you are qualified. Even if you have a MD permit it is worthless. If you have to defend yourself, you’re family or anyone else , you will be charged, indicted and probably found guilty. You know MD sucks. Look up castle doctrine and stand your ground. Don't worry. It isn't easy to obtain a gun. Unless you are a bad guy. It has been made very, very hard. Plus they can't just take your guns or people would revolt. It has to be slow and steady. Do you even know of what you speak? Nope you don't.

If your are so frightened you need a gun you should just put one to your temple. You just become one of the THUGS. Works for me though I have gotten out of many meal and bar tabs at happy hour when some goateed fat ass bellies up armed at the Bar. I did not feel particularly threatened in any way but it's fun to make an issue and dismiss them and get a free meal.
And when they come for you, you'll wish you had a firearm, or hadn't been such an ass to people who are law abiding AND carry.
