Grassley: Senate would 'probably' override Trump veto of defense bill amid base renaming fight

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) is warning that Congress would likely override President Trump if he vetoes a mammoth defense policy bill amid the fight over a plan to rename Army bases named after Confederate figures.

Grassley, during a call with Iowa reporters on Monday, said he hoped Trump wouldn't veto the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which is set to pass the Senate later this month, over the base renaming.

"If it came to overriding a veto, we’d probably override the veto," Grassley told Iowa reporters on a conference call this week.

You can't get enough votes to get rid of Obamcare. It's time for these useless Republicans to be gone.

Someone show Trump the battle record of General Bragg. Here's a clue; he was a proven loser on the battle field. Trump will have that named changed before sundown. LOL

Fort Lee will be renamed to Harriet Tubman Station or George Washington Carver-ville.

They won't let the new names not be for black people! Can't have Fort George Patton or a Fort Eisenhower.

Republicans are kneeling for democrats agenda. Remember few months ago when democrats wanted opened boarders? Does anyone think democrats changed their minds on it? It’s all going to go down the drain if they keep running.

No worries Grassley because if you override the president whom the republican voters love your political career will come to a conclusion in November or your next election date. The country didn't vote for you. Your state did. The country did vote for Trump. Now piss off.

The country adores our amazon leader. Would even adore him more if his hangnail would have permitted him to serve in the military or would have not flared up requiring him to move into a bunker during the recent protests in DC.
