Robert Johnson, the founder of Black Entertainment Television (BET), is asking for federal reparations to be made for slavery as national protests and outrage continues following the death of George Floyd.
Johnson, 74, told CNBC on Monday that the U.S. government should make $14 trillion available for reparations for the black community.
He said that the money would help to reduce the 'systemic racial inequality' that stems from the country's history of slavery.

Unreal. Slavery officially ended 155 years ago. I wonder if he ever thinks about the Civil War and appreciates the ultimate sacrifice so many men made to abolish it? I am not anti-black at all,but how can anyone,regardless of race, look at the crime statistics and not acknowledge the numbers? They don't lie. Most black people die at the hands of fellow blacks. Not one statistic supports any of their baseless claims against police,white people,etc. That cop should be in jail where he deserves to be. Few would deny that. Any black that is still focused on slavery is a certifiable nut case. Normal people do not dwell on something unpleasant that happened yesterday much less over a 100 years ago. Truthfully and most blacks won't admit this because they are dishonest but slavery is just an excuse for them to excuse the mess of their lives THEY have made. Most and I say most because most are democrats so this means they have never had a decent, good, honest, moral person in their life can't get the concept of personal responsibility.

I want reparation for my parents and grandparents having to grow their own food or not eat, slop the hogs every day for meat, milk the cows for milk for the babies, can everything they could get their hands on through their own sweat and toil, no welfare checks, EBT cards, SNAP cards or unemployment checks, much less a bonus, no stimulos checks, no government help of any kind at all. If you didn't grow it, and preserve it for winter, you didn't eat, period! I want reparation for the way my ancestors were treated.

If they knew the history of the slavery, they would know that there has been slavery all throughout history. When a local population is beaten in a war, they were taken into slavery and either sold to other countries or put to work. Have you ever heard of the Romans? The blacks that were brought to America were sold by tribes of their own people to the "white men". The white men did not go to Africa and round up the people, their own kind did. One tribe beating another tribe.
My family did not come to America until the 1940s. Should I have to pay for something that my family, who are Irish, had nothing to do with. The Irish were in the same position with England. They did all the work for sometimes no pay.
Until no one sees color, there will always be a problem but that works both ways. I believe that you are what you think you are. People of all colors need to work hard and not expect to be handed anything.
