WASHINGTON, DC: Congressman Andy Harris (MD-01) announced that he will continue to visit with local restaurants on the Lower Shore that are eager and ready to safely re-open, and are capable of conducting their business with the use of outdoor dining, masks, and social distancing. Congressman Harris stated “It is vital to re-open our communities and our businesses as we approach the summer season.” On Thursday, May 21st, Congressman Harris plans to visit local restaurants with outdoor seating, as the latest actions on re-opening Maryland did not allow restaurants to open for tableside service with social distancing, even for those with ample room or which provide outdoor seating. Is he running for re-election or soon to be ?
Is Mr.Harris real game doing anything except trying to assure he wins in the next election? These places will open up when the law allows and not because he is running around patting people on the back. If he really wants the public to take notice he would encourage one of these places to open up for outdoor dining and then pay their fine if they got one. People would then believe he practices what he is preaching.
For now he is just riding around talking the talk.
He needs to walk the walk.

The last time he crossed the bridge to visit restaurants, I was able to check his schedule here the day before. I was disappointed to see he wouldn’t be in Salisbury. This time the notice he would be in Salisbury was posted an hour after he was scheduled to leave Salisbury. Not meant to be?
Harris is an egomaniac. Anything he does is first and foremost self serving. He likes to stir up crowds to side with him while he comes across as he is actually siding with them. Total mind screw.
Visiting SBY is like flying into a war zone. One wants to shake some hands and snap a few pics. Then exit quickly and quietly.
Politicians are afraid of towns like SBY with out of control drug gangs and incompetent police chiefs
