NASA Worker Michael Hetle Accused In Death Of Maryland National Guardsman Javon Prather

A NASA employee and former police officer is facing charges after police say he shot and killed his neighbor, a Maryland National Guardsman in Springfield, Virginia.

Michael Hetle, 52, was arrested Tuesday after the fatal shooting of Specialist Javon Prather, 24, Fairfax County police said in a news release.

The men had argued for years, according to Prather’s mother, Shavon Prather.

“(Hetle) would call the HOA (home owners association) and say there was dog poop in their backyard,” Prather told The Washington Post. “He would call and complain when they put out trash. Anything he could do to scold them and to get them in trouble.”

I think old Hetle should have been living in his own gated community by his self

Another reason ?

Killing somebody is just another reason for HOA to cease existing.

Northwest Woodsman: I highly suspect that Prather was a horrible neighbor and that Hertl had reached a tipping point after continual issues related to living next door to a family who would have been better served living in a trailer somewhere in the woods of West Virginia with a couple of acres where they could litter their property with all manner of trash. Harsh? No, just me being a realist untouched by the emotional aspect of this case. Didn’t deserve to be murdered and Hertl should have practiced restraint but if we were to look at the history between these two, Hertl might deserve some sympathy.

Chris-HOA exist for dozens of great reasons and home owners voluntarily accept the conditions set forth to keep the neighborhood clean and civilized. Not everyone wants own a nice home and have chickens and pig farms next door.
