The widow of former Maryland Rep. Elijah Cummings anguished over how President Trump’s remarks about her husband's district had an effect on him in his final months.
Maya Rockeymoore Cummings, who is running to fill her husband’s vacant seat in Congress, shared her disappointment over Trump's decision to criticize Baltimore while her husband battled long-standing health issues.
In July, Trump tweeted, “Rep, Elijah Cummings has been a brutal bully, shouting and screaming at the great men & women of Border Patrol about conditions at the Southern Border, when actually his Baltimore district is FAR WORSE and more dangerous. His district is considered the Worst in the USA."
He added, "As proven last week during a Congressional tour, the Border is clean, efficient & well run, just very crowded. Cumming District is a disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess. If he spent more time in Baltimore, maybe he could help clean up this very dangerous & filthy place.”

Trump is exactly right. Cummings's District is infested. Two weeks ago I went to West Baltimore. You're talking worse than third world here. Just cleaning some alleys isn't going to get it. Block after block of boarded up row homes. Many not boarded with no windows. Roofs caved in all over the place. Where corner stores had large windows they have now bricked in the windows. Bars on every establishment. There is a local Wal-Mart where they even lock up soap. Drug dealers are everywhere. They don't even hide it. Baltimore is a national disaster area. Everyone of those politicians in that area should be locked up. Corruption is ram-pit and everywhere. The Governor should this for what it is. I would recommend bringing someone in from outside because it's evident these people haven't a clue.
The president was accurate in his statement! In fact, it is pretty accurate for most Democrat run areas! Leeches abound!

How come democrats hate the truth? The place IS rat infested, drug infested, crime infested, thug infested, and gang infested. Baltimore became the murder capital of the country under Cummings' "leadership." Trump couldn't be more right in his assessment of Cummings district in Baltimore. His widow and everyone else can say what they want, but the truth is undeniable except to only the delusional and those that will not see.
