Baltimore Mayor Bernard C. "Jack" Young (D) on Friday detailed previously announced plans to name a city courthouse after the late Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.).
Cummings, who chaired the House Oversight and Reform Committee at the time of his death in October at age 68, was a civil rights advocate who graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law and practiced in Baltimore.
"Elijah was a son of Baltimore. He was proud of Baltimore," his widow, Maya Rockeymoore Cummings, said, according to ABC News. "His career as a legal professional started in this courthouse."

The name on the outside has nothing to do with what goes on inside.
Just because he is black does not entitle him to be honored as a patriot. He didn't cross the aisle to even communicate with wh had a diffenernt opinion than him. Blacks should not accept second best when selecting a noteworthy candidate for a lauded position of honor. Maybe think of Condolessa Rice.

Turns out there are a lot of empty spaces for new statues to go up to honor Elijah the Communist!
Cummings was a reason MD has such liberal Judges and weak Judicial system. Honoring him by naming a Prison after him would be to good. Gangs Drug Dealers and the Rats are a plenty of recognition for Cummings.
