Royal Plus Disaster Relief Arrives On Island In The Carolina's

Hurricane Dorian impacted multiple areas of North Carolina. One of those areas was Hyde County’s Ocracoke Island.

I had no idea a tractor trailer could fit on a ferry but clearly they can. This local Ocean City business travels all over the United States to rebuild whatever mother nature tears down.

The ferry is awesome! Such a nice trip across the water and it's free. The locals have wasted no time and they have already cleaned up a lot. NDOT will have the roadway repaired in no time. I have never seen a road get built or cleared as fast as they can.

"real" ferries carry tractor trailers. Ferries that are there for both commercial and auto use must accommodate large trucks. Down on the outer banks, that's how most of the supplies get there. Those little river crossers on the Wicomico River are for local resident use only (not real ferries). They are leftovers from the horse and buggy days. I grew up visiting family in NC via the ferries between Little Creek to Cape Charles and will forever remember the diesel fumes smell from all the trucks on the ferries that kept their motors running the whole time they were on the ferry.

NDOT SHOULD be good at it, considering how many times they've had to do it.

The road on Ocracoke was damaged, but not the one on Hatteras Island.

Why is any American or American company doing this when fellow American's in Porta Rocio still need it?

Joe,
Speaking of roads, is the entrance to the mall that started caving in ever going to be repaired!? Seems like it happened forever ago... isn’t the city responsible for that section??
