Court: Oberlin College Must Post $36 Million Bond After Refusing to Pay Judgment

According to a report by Legal Insurrection, an Ohio judge has ordered Oberlin College to post a $36 million bond after it refused to pay the multi-million-dollar judgment to Gibson’s Bakery stemming from the family business’s defamation case against the college.

Gibson’s Bakery sued Oberlin College for their role in a smear campaign against the bakery over a shoplifting incident during which three black Oberlin students assaulted the store’s shopkeeper. The students, who pled guilty to the assault, have acknowledged that race played no role in the altercation.

A jury awarded Gibson’s Bakery $44 million in total damages earlier this year. Now, Oberlin College is refusing to pay.

If Oberlin is not held accountable "fakers" will abound across the country. Open season on anyone who disagrees with left wing radicals. Oberlin stood by underage students who tried to buy booze! HYPOCRISY!

Arrest and indict the president and board of regents, for starters.

Not a lawyer, and wasn't at Holiday Inn Express last night, but if they fail to post the bond it may limit their appeal rights. If they miss the appeal deadline the plaintiff can begin the process to seize enough of their assets to cover the judgement.

Sweet as the aroma of fresh baked goods!
