President Donald Trump has ordered the United States Flag be flown at half-staff from sunrise until NOON on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, 2019. This is in honor and memory of the patriots who have laid down their lives in defense of our country. As a matter of protocol, the Maryland flag is lowered to half-staff. No flag may fly higher than the United States flag.

As a vet this is a fitting symbolism. As a country, regardless of affiliation, we should be in such deep gratitude to those who fought so valiantly for freedom of oppression, genocide, and global domination. It is sad we take so much for granted especially that we are able to come and go as we please, enjoy our beautiful country, speak and pray freely, and follow a dream. Those with differing views on the aforementioned should seriously consider a suitable alternative outside the U.S.A.
