Trump Administration's Census Citizenship Question Plans Halted By Third Judge

The Trump administration's plans to add a hotly contested citizenship question to the 2020 census have suffered another major blow in the courts.

The question asks, "Is this person a citizen of the United States?"

A third federal judge has found the decision to include it on forms for the national headcount to be unlawful.

In a 119-page opinion, U.S. District Judge George Hazel in Maryland concluded that the decision by Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, who oversees the census, to add the question violated administrative law. Federal judges in New York and California came to the same conclusion.

Similar to the earlier ruling in California, the judge also found including the question would be unconstitutional because, at a time of increased immigration enforcement and anti-immigrant rhetoric, it hinders the government's ability to count every person living in the U.S. once a decade as the Constitution requires.

Not surprising when you consider the majority of the leadership in Maryland, New York and California are liberal Democrats.

Let's try a 4th time. Maybe a judge from the Chicago area? Maybe Hawaii? I know maybe a liberal judge from the Seattle area.

Not surprising from a Judge from the Liberal sanctuary State of Maryland. Illegals get drivers licenses and registered to vote, which is illegal since you have to be a US citizen to vote.

Without the citizenship question, the census is useless. Why even bother wasting the money to print it?

Citizens are entitled to vote for representatives in Congress; illegals, visa visitors and resident aliens are not.

Democrats want all those counted to be treated in a lump, which would skew congressional reapportionment towards their goals while actively disenfranchising citizens where there are large groups of non-citizens.

As fond as Democrats are of slicing us into race and gender groups for marketing and victim purposes, they want those questions to stay while thumbing their noses at actual citizens.

The question will ultimately be found legitimate because it is the primary reason for the census. All the other questions: how many bathrooms; X-Box or Gameboy; own or rent are peripheral.

No problem. Let's see what the Supreme Court has to say.
