The House voted 96-43 on Friday to override Gov. Larry Hogan's veto on Thursday of a bill that would establish five sanctuaries to rebuild the state's oyster population.
This bill would ban catching oysters in Harris Creek, the Little Choptank River, the Tred Avon River, the St. Mary's River, and the Manokin River.
Supporters of the bill say that the sanctuaries would be critical in the recovery of the distressed oyster population, which are the primary foundation of the Chesapeake Bay ecosystem.
Johnny Mautz, an Eastern Shore Republican, criticized Democrats and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation for ignoring science stating that sanctuaries are not needed in this case.

A pretty one sided article; no facts stated as to why it's a bad idea.
Wondering why we, the people, don't get relevant facts and arguments in MSM articles.
I guess just keep pumping money into the "Save The Bay" folks for the same results year after year.
Fact is, sanctuaries let older oysters live until they die off of dicers which infects the whole bay while rotating harvest areas promotes younger growth and better built up resistance to newer diseases.
Suck on that oyster, CBF!
The relevant facts are out there. Folks like you just seem to only want to read headlines and flip through the purrty pictures
