The drone delivery of a kidney recently used for an organ transplant in Baltimore is being characterized by the University of Maryland as a “pioneering breakthrough” advancement in human medicine and aviation technology.
“It’s huge. We knew from the very first time that we met with Dr. (Joseph) Scalea, and he suggested the idea of what he wanted to do — we knew it would be earth-shattering and life-changing, and it really has become that,” Matthew Scassero, director of the Unmanned Aircraft Systems Test Site at the University of Maryland, told WTOP.
The unmanned aircraft system’s flight on April 19 through the city of Baltimore occurred at about 12:30 a.m. and was less than 3 miles, but represents a huge first step.

Northwest Woodsman: If I read this as written, I would assume that a transplant is going to occur over Baltimore! Shows the intellectual level of journalists produced by dumbed down college programs. Read recently where grammar and the ability to construct coherent sentences is no longer required because it “be”racist.
Did it get shot at?
"'Earth Shattering' Drone delivers brain for 10:16 on SBYnews"
How does this read?
Is this REALLY necessary?? Just opening up the doors for a less productive use allowing drones to be flown in busy metropolitan area
Why do you think they made the flight at 12:30 am? If they can't see it can't shoot it!!
@12:42 so the only medical emergencies happen in the middle of the night? It shouldn't take them too long to figure out the schedule and go from there. Just like America tell people what and when were going to do things
