BALTIMORE —One person was killed when as many as eight people were shot Sunday in west Baltimore.
City police were called shortly after 5 p.m. to the 2500 block of Edmondson Avenue near Whitmore Avenue, where there were two cookouts on the street, according to police.
Commissioner Michael Harrison said a man "began firing indiscriminately into the crowd, striking a number of people." He said investigators believe "there was a second shooter, perhaps firing back, but it's still unknown, perhaps firing back at the perpetrator."
The initial gunman fled the scene.
"That person was targeting one, if not more people in that crowd," Harrison said.

Just another beautiful day in Bmore! Nothing new.
Was alcohol being served at these Cookouts?
Some people get that way when they don't get invited to the BBQ.
Cookin' out and shootin' it out.
Interesting (but not surprising) that they don't mention in this article that the perp was a black man.
I'm sure they'd like us to assume it was some white nationalist with an AR-15.
Yes, it was a black on black shooting spree
It's all misguided, they just wanted a quick milk shake

Do you think he was wearing a MAGA hat or a BLM hat?
We shoot at my house when we have a cookout. I mean we don't shoot at people.
Every single one of them were going to be doctor's!! LMAO.
