Rep. Harris’ Statement on Failed Veto Override

WASHINGTON, DC: Congressman Andy Harris (MD-01) made the following statement regarding his support of President Trump on the vote to override the President’s veto of a bill that would block his declaration of a national emergency:

“MS-13 gang violence, illegal smuggling of deadly drugs, and human trafficking are serious threats we need to address by securing our border. While Speaker Pelosi and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez choose to side with open borders and amnesty, I stand with the American people and with President Trump to secure our border by supporting his veto. Our southern border needs security that includes physical barriers, and our border patrol must have adequate funds to do their job and protect Americans’ safety and national security. As long as MS-13 remains a serious problem in Maryland, I know that supporting comprehensive border security will help protect Maryland families against serious threats coming across our border illegally.”

If you don't believe in a wall, leave your doors open when you go to bed tonight.

Thanks, Andy, we support you on this. Too bad my other D reps just want to tell me that open borders are what's best for me.

It will not help Marylanders because of the prison system which allows recruitment and spreading of the gangs and radical Islam everyday. The Politians allow these policies and also the Politians have made Maryland a sanctuary State which gives illegals voting rights, driving rights and felons voting rights. Thanks to the Democrats, Mike Miller and Michael Busch and their areas in Maryland.
