As concerned parents of children in Dorchester County schools I have been advised by close friends of ours who work for the district that "Problem kids/Teens" in school are NOT properly being punished and Written up even though the Obama administrations rules and regulations where OVERTURNED by Trump's Betsey Devose Secretary of education, By NOT reporting stats they are Lying to the government, The OLD Obama rules are still being Enforced By Liberals in YOUR COUNTY ?. Is this True ????????

I hope Dorchester County schools are teaching English and proper writing skills. Maybe the OP should check on adult education classes.
It's state regulations from MSDE, it has nothing to do with Obama or Trump.
The same is true in Wicomico county
This is outrageous and explains a lot.
I'm wonder if MSDE is aware that at the county level the school Principles are Not properly documenting kid write ups.
The DOJ has tied the hands of admin and teachers. So yes the thugs run the schools and theirs not a darn thing you can do about it.

As someone who personally works in Wicomico County schools, I can tell you first hand that students do not get disciplined like they should be. Many students sent out of the room are given "timeouts" for like 10 mins and then sent back. Students are allowed to use their phone e whenever they want, staff are no longer allowed to confiscate the phones for Mom and Dad to pick up. Many students walk around acting like they own the place. They are also not forced to do their work and they still get allowed to be pushed to the next grade even though they fail their classes. Things were way different when I started over 8 years ago. The schools outside of Salisbury in the outer areas of the county are way better than any of the ones in the city. If you have the money just put your kids in private school. If you don't believe there are major problems in our schools I strongly encourage you to volunteer in the schools and see for yourself.

Ditto for Somerset County. Kids as young as 1st grade already know they can do whatever they want whenever they want to whoever they want. 100k a year won’t be enough to fix the teacher shortage we have. Discipline and student conduct must be addressed
Same thing in Wicomico County. Get rid of Dr. Hanlin and this lame ass Board of Education.

5:17 , you are correct , it has gone on too long . Of course we all know that schools are a learning institution , teachers teach and students learn. Students who do not adhere to the the rules should be kicked out of school .
Teachers are there to educate , they are not there to provide parental guidance . Of course we could just do what hitler did and show the unruly ones the easy way out , I mean way out.
This needs to be Investigated by the state what say you gov Hogan ? It also needs to be looked at from the State department for failure to Fill out reports to the federal government.
For one thing, Wicomico BOE meetings sound like the seal show @ Sea World. Please, for the love of God, get that man a voice machine.
In case nobody realizes it, the Dorchester BOE, and the teacher's union (NEA) are all Democrats. They don't care about any rules and regulations, except Democrat rules and regulations. All rules and regulations are political to the teachers, and they will only enforce the ones that they agree with. Teachers are training our kids to be the socialists of tomorrow.
Then go to your school and demand that they properly punish problem kids, and if they do not, you will sue them for not seeing to the security and well being of the other students. And that you will go to the Board of Education and also drag them through every blog you can find and facebook. And protest in front of the school. Doing nothing empowers them.
This happens when you are too cowardly to stand up for your children. Nothing is done because they do not want the problem kids to be brought to the light where everyone can see just who the problem kids are. They are too cowardly to stand up to their parents, who come in there and raise hell. They do not want to deal with it or the accusations of racism thrown about like there is no tomorrow. WE need to stand up and tell them we will not take this crap any longer. It needs to stop. And if they will not stop it we will put someone in there that will.
