Why it matters: This would be the most dramatic move yet in Trump's hardline immigration campaign, this time targeting "anchor babies" and "chain migration." And it will set off another stand-off with the courts, as Trump’s power to do this through executive action is debatable to say the least.

Even so, the child is a citizen but the parents are still illegal. The parents must go. They can make the choice to take or leave their citizen children, but they must go.
Over the course of years the meaning of the Amendment has become perverted. Here's the man to see that it gets fixed.
GET'ER DONE. Stop all chain migration also. There is no Constitution right on this, MOTHER & FATHER only with strict requirements or they will be deported. I am tired of living / surviving day to day while these illegals get $50,000 plus a year then getting all the tax credits which exceed greatly over what they supposedly pay in taxes. While I still have to pay taxes to support these illegals. Stop this migration / invasion and there will be enough money to build the wall and save SSI for years to come.
This will go over like a fart in church with CNN and MSNBC.
I think we all agree that something has to be done with that archaic part of the Constitution, but it should be done via amendment.
At least, if he does it at the right time, those in the caravan may already be shipped out before they can have babies. You know it will take about- maybe a day- for a liberal federal judge to rule it down.
@9:43am you realize the 2nd amendment was to protect the home from British troops. We are no longer at war with Britain. By saying what you will about the 14th, you are saying you're fine with the abolition of the 2nd amendment...which I doubt you are. The entire Bill of Rights is archaic, outdated, and hardly functional. It was built on a society of 2.5 million people (estimate of 1776). The US has 4 cities that are larger than that now. We cannot continue to have our life and rights dictated by a 242 year old document. And Elizabeth Warren, although I do not like her one bit, has said this time and time again. But Fox News spins it as she doesn't like a written government. No. She just thinks we need a completely ratified system of government similar to those of far more achieving (politically, of course not in comparison to economy or military) countries like Denmark and Switzerland.
But yes, you are correct. The original intent was to grant citizenship to recently freed slaves.
These law breakers must learn that they can't just come her and drop a baby and it's automatically a citizen of this country.Send all their asses home...mom, dad, baby, aunt, uncle, cousins ....the whole lot of them.
It's a no brainer. How the hell can their children be a U.S.citizen when their parents are here illegally? Their parents had not right to be in the country. They snuck into our country, breaking our laws and expect their kids to be citizens? Bull shi_. Same should go for those DACA fools. YOU have no right to even be here. Deport them also. They are NOT citizens. Does not matter if they were brought here by their parents. Blame your parents for your situation, not America. Your parents knew they were doing wrong bringing you here or having you while here. Children of illegals ARE NOT citizens.
