Cal Ripken Jr. sues hometown of Aberdeen

ABERDEEN, Md. (WBFF) - Cal Ripken Jr.'s family is suing their hometown of Aberdeen for breach of contract regarding Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium.

Ripken's company Tufton Professional Baseball LLC said in a lawsuit filed Thursday that the Aberdeen mayor and city council need to "live up to an agreement that they signed almost two decades ago... to develop and operate a state-of-the-art minor league stadium and sports complex."

The suit claims "repeated attempts to resolve these matters with the City" weren't successful.

Sports are not the only things in life, and in case anyone hasn't noticed, baseball is not currently doing well.

Maybe pensions and benefits from public employees have bankrupted the city.

The City offered the stadium free to ripken, he refused, wants to continue a taxpayer subsidized arraingemen. It's only a single A team, not enough to pay for itself
