Democrat Andrew Gillum leads Republican Rep. Ron DeSantis (Fla.) by 5 points in the race for the Florida governor's mansion, according to the first publicly released poll since the state's primary elections on Tuesday.
The survey was commissioned by Florida Democratic consultant Christian Ulvert and conducted by the Democratic polling firm Public Policy Polling (PPP) from Aug. 29-30 — just after Gillum and DeSantis secured their parties' nominations. The margin of error is plus or minus 4 percentage points.
Forty-eight percent of the 743 voters surveyed chose Gillum, the current mayor of Tallahassee and a self-styled progressive, in the match-up, while 43 percent said they would cast their ballots for DeSantis.

As a Florida resident I am still in shock!
He was polling in 4th place around the time of the primary.
Gillum had substantially less television advertisings than the other candidates but won big in the Miami area that put him over the top.
The LAST thing Florida needs is another Maxine Waters!
Yup all polls reported the Hildabeast leading now president Trump.
So much for polls
Democrat polls are garbage.
HAHAHA. That's what they said about PRESIDENT TRUMP and Clinton. It's September folks not November.
Why do they publish such garbage. Forida is smarter than that. Democrat polling - really.
Polls are designed to get the results you seek and are often politically motivated to either encourage certain voters or discourage others from voting.
Just seen this guy Gilliam is under FBI Investigation.
You got that right. Under investigation big time. Only Soros can save his a_ _"
