Governor Hogan and Comptroller Franchot to Visit Ocean City on Friday

Stops include final pitch for Tax-Free week, visits to beachfront landmarks

WHAT:
Comptroller Franchot will visit the Ocean City boardwalk onFriday, beginning with a stop at Quiet Storm Surf Shop as part of his ongoing promotion of Shop Maryland Tax-Free Week, which runs through Saturday. This week, shoppers will pay no sales tax on qualifying clothing and footwear priced at $100 or less and on the first $40 of a backpack purchase. Also this year, Maryland college students can win a $2,500 scholarship from the Maryland Retailers Association simply by participating in a social media contest.
Afterward, the Comptroller will join Governor Larry Hogan to visit three iconic Ocean City beachfront businesses. Stops will include Thrasher's French Fries, Marty's Playland and an event honoring the 125th anniversary of Trimper's Rides.

Shop in Delaware no sales tax.
If Maryland wants a Tax holiday make it on everything without any limits.
