This is about the same rate watermen are getting paid for their crabs now, however expenses have gone up 10X-20X and regulation has cut the catch in half or less. On top of it most places are buying from Singapore.

1956 it opened in OC. I'm guessing the menu is from the mid 1960s

Everything but milk has gone up by a factor of 10. It is amazing what government subsidies can do to a price.

Back then, the minimum wage was less than $2.00. Couldn't exactly eat like a king at Phillip's on that.
