I heard the FedEx and UPS were going to merge. The new company would be called FedUp.
This is the next step for Walmart to get a leg up on amazon. They already have the distribution chain, now they're beefing up same day and overnight delivery. People laugh when I say it, but one day, Walmart will be neck-n-neck with Amazon.
Heads, I win; tails, you lose!
It's a 3 way split with UPS, FedEx and Post Office to deliver Amazon stuff. But they just scored an exclusive with Amazon's main competition.
It's like opening 500 new branches with one lease that have no property maintenance issues, and most are open 24/7. Smart move.
Except that amazon has it's own planes and delivery vehicles now and they are expanding the service to include drones. It is good for fedex. No exclusive for walmart to ship with fedex. Walmart will ship by cheapest means.
