A jab at Trump? If you don’t release your tax returns, you could be left off the presidential ballot in Md.

Presidential candidates — including President Trump if he runs for reelection — would have to publicly release their federal income tax returns to be on the ballot in Maryland, under a bill that received an initial nod from the state Senate on Thursday.

The preliminary approval followed a long debate that largely centered around the 45th president.

“For 40 years in the United States, every presidential candidate has done this until 15 months ago,” bill sponsor Sen. Paul G. Pinsky (D-Prince George’s) said of releasing tax returns. “People have come to expect this kind of information. Voters want to know before a name appears on the ballot.”

Opponents of the bill described it as a partisan shot aimed at Trump, who hasrefused to release his returns.

They wouldn't make the turd release his college transcripts or his real birth certificate - even after having committed fraud by getting student leans as a foreigner!

Why in the hell is a tax return so important ? This is nothing more than a game with the left . I don't care if he paid a billion or paid nothing .
If this crap keeps up we will find a way to melt the snow flakes with lead.
We are now at the tip of the iceberg .

Not any business of the good senator. Just a nose problem and jealousy. I sure don't want to see the returns. Like Pinsky, I wouldn't know what I was looking at. Pinsky wouldn't understand numbers that large either. Nothing but a democrat minion.

When was that last time a Republican running for President won this state? The state should NOT be allowed deny people the right to vote! Dems keep changing the rules to suit their own agenda. How about we have some voter ID laws instead.

There is no law stating a President must release tax returns and if a law was passed it couldn't legally be implemented until after Trump leaves office. Another reason to leave the sucker state of MD to the leeches.

You can request his college transcript and his birth certificate was released. How many times do we have to go through this..

Maryland is an embarrassment.Should change the name to "The Peoples Republic of Md".

If presidential candidates should be required to disclose federal tax returns then all candidates on a ballot should be required to do the same.

let's not discriminant.

The Constitution enumerates the qualifications for a President; individual states can not add others.

40 years??? isn't that only 3 or 4 Presidents? This Country is 242 years old which means no Presidents showed anybody anything but a platform and residency for 200 YEARS!!!!

There is NOTHING in our Constitution requiring any type of financial disclosure as a pre qualification for running for ANY OFFICE WHATSOEVER.

That makes any law passed by Maryland UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

Get off it and go after Voter Citizenship, which IS a requirement in the Constitution.

His actual birth certificate was not released, they came out with a 'registration' of birth. Hawaii would not release his actual 'certificate certifying his birth!

The state of Maryland.
Getting more and more Embarrassed to be from this state.
A good state to be from.
Now they will spend lots of money in law suits from the Government
Our snowflake leaders in this state are total a$$holes

Bernie, Crooked Clinton, President Trump released taxes required by law to run for office. It's a snap shot not full records of taxes. Otherwise we could see Clinton Global taxes and Clinton foundation taxes and that's not happening.

Get ready to count A LOT of write ins!

Maryland will be the next state to be sued by the DOJ. The federal supremacy clause of the constitution will prevail. All this is is political grandstanding, and lets everyone know who the real enemies of the Constitution and the federal government are.

But it matters little because Maryland Democrats won't vote for Trump anyway. A state that declares itself the enemy of a sitting president is not going to get our citizens any favors from that same administration. That makes our legislators an enemy of our state's citizens, and not looking out for our best interests.

I want to see all of Maryland legislators tax returns, before they get on our ballot. How about that? Crickets...all I hear is crickets.

More unqualified crap coming from PG County.

Billionaires have the most complex tax returns imaginable, and the returns are always open, and never finished, and subject to amendments. All billioaires tax returns are fluid, and never complete. These dumb-ass wanna-be-billionaire politicians think it is just a matter of supplying a tax return, when they cannot even read or comprehend what that tax return would look like. But they all wish they had a tax return like that, so that THEY could deny public access to it, and say it is irrelevant (like it is).

803 if so WHO paid for his college? And where did the money come from? His college transcripts and funding have NOT been released. YouTube Sarah Sanders White House press briefing on college transcripts!!!You should watch ALL of them instead of CNN MIXER later. (Press briefings are litterly live)

Just let me know if a death certificate turns up on the subject 8:03. That's the only time we have to go through it.

There's a whole lot of Liberal stupid to go around in Maryland, especially in PG Co.

Will not stand up to the first court challenge. It's violates the privacy act. Your tax return is nobody's business.

If he's left off the ballot, there will be alot of write-ins. Liberal thinking can go jump in a lake somewhere and hopefully drown.

What about the black democrats seated who done pay taxes. And the Mayor of DC . Get over it. President Trump doesn't have to show his taxes.

Pretty sure MD is opening itself up for lawsuits if they do that... Don't you just love how you people think your vote counts!!!!!! And you fools keep listening to the other fools who say it does count!!!! Prove to me how it does count, when cities and states can do this!!!! Explain to me when the electoral college picks their people to place in front of you and gives you their choice of 2 candidates how that equals your vote counts????

Sure, you get the illusion of choice becasue by definition choice means more than one to pick from, but what if they are not people you want in front of you??? Like if you want trump, everyone wants trump, but only Hilary or Bill Clinton were your two choices becasue that is who the electoral college put there????

You should really take a political science course, instead of spouting off about something you know nothing about. The electoral college does not pick the candidates, they pick the winner from the candidates on the ballot. The candidates on the ballots are the winners of the primary contests, selected directly by the voters. The electoral college only applies to presidential elections and not to any other contests. How many electors does each state have? A: The same number as the number of congressional members that the state has: 2 senators plus the number of Representatives that represent the state. Political Science is not difficult, and more people should become more informed voters and learn about the process. Clueless voters make clueless choices.

I used to know a guy that worked at the IRS and someone in his office ran across a tax return for GM. He said it was a standard business tax return but the numbers were astronomical.
