Thanks for reminding me of a terrible time of my mid-teens. This is EXACTLY why I still don't listen to that crap and why I started listening to reggae and alternative music. My kids have always wondered what shaped my diverse music tastes. Now, I will show them this and they'll understand. This really evokes horrible emotions from me even to this day. Maybe I should see a pshrink. . Or, maybe it was just the music.
Mainstream pop radio hasn't changed much over the years; it's still playing crap 24/7. Yes, disco sucked then and it does now. It's what killed the BeeGees' career.
