Many People On Facebook Cancelling Their Daily Times Newspaper

We didn't receive the paper for 2 days. Got yesterday's and today. Newspaper isn't what it used to be. We have thought about canceling it also.

I had problems with them when the weather was fine so did dad & mom we stop the paper some time ago

I quit getting it last summer too expensive & I view on line obituary's. Old news & already seen on TV. Saving $400 per year. They raised the price recently $10.per Mo. for some customers.

Daily Times Newspaper is seeing their last days as an actual newspaper. They are nothing we remember from our younger years. The good guys have moved on or lost their jobs to corporate. I finally gave up on them as well. I used to look forward to a cup of coffee and a newspaper in my mornings. Internet and poor management took them down.

Yes, no paper for 3 days!

Not had a problem in the last 12 years. That is when I quit buying it. LOL

We had problems before all this. I can understand now with the snow. We just cancelled it all together.

That is true. So we cancelled.

After about a decade, I cancelled my subscription to the Daily Times because of all of the grammatical errors and spelling errors in the articles and even in the headlines!!!!! Where in the heck are the editors? Obviously not doing their job of putting another set of eyes and brains in reading the articles and headlines prior to approving them for publication in the paper. Plus the editors were so sloppy that they would have the same story twice in the same paper, but on different pages. Yet the most egregious errors were in the obituaries where the same picture would be used for 2 different obituaries, or they'd have a different name listed in the obituary headline, but then the same obituary for 2 different people. A college newspaper run by college students is better than the Daily Times which is suppose to be a "professional" newspaper.

Why are there different rates for different areas. Seems like it is based on housing values, although I could be wrong.

Why would you pay for news that old? dated?......If you have access to the internet, printed newspapers are a dinosaur

Um....we did have a snowstorm, remember? We didn't even get mail for two days. Lighten up!

I got tired of that Wicomico Weekly garbage they litter your neighborhood with. I had to call 3 times in order to get them to stop delivering and the last call, I had to get very abrasive with them and threatened to report them to the Fruitland police for persistently littering my yard. The papers seem to have finally stopped but we'll see. If they want to cut costs, stop wasting paper and giving people something that just ends up unopened, unread, and in the garbage.

Someone on Facebook said: The paper is thinner than ever not much in it. Then, they offer these low prices for the first few month's. But, when you read the fine print it's a $34 set up fee!

I canceled when they endorsed obama and have never looked back.

I was a 40+ year subscriber, and cancelled them last year. It lost its value dramatically in the last few yews. I did like the comics and the daily puzzles, but I've found them online. Now if I could just do something about that grossly overpriced cable subscription....

About the Cable, there is an local internet company called bloosurf, they charge only $40 a month which isn't bad and also get Hulu Or Netflix for $8 a month... No crazy fees from bloosurf!!! Also get an antenna for local channels! There you go only about $50 a month for internet and shows!! Not bad compared to cable that's over $100.00 a month.

why ? they shut down a great music venue to allow the Daily Times a new place.

Why wouldn't the Daily Times drop their far left agenda and bias if they know this is causing the company to die a slow death?
If this company had a good leader I would think they would decide to just print actual and relevant news and let the reader make up their own minds concerning local or national events.
