Police Seek Public’s Help In Wicomico Co. Home Invasion

(Delmar, MD) – Maryland State Police investigators are searching for a suspect and seeking help from citizens who may have information about the individual involved in a Wicomico County home invasion.

Shortly after 7:00 p.m. yesterday, troopers from the Salisbury Barrack responded to the 2900 block of Waller Road in Delmar, MD, for report of a home invasion. This call was placed by one of the victims.

Preliminary, the investigation revealed that an unknown black male attempted to enter the residence by breaking a rear window leading into a bedroom area. One of the two adult victims home at the time observed the suspect trying to break into the bedroom and went outside to confront the suspect.

The suspect then assaulted the victim with a tire iron. The victim declined medical treatment at the scene.

After assaulting the victim, the suspect entered the residence and went into the bedroom that he attempted to break into earlier. However, the suspect ran out of the house a short time later without taking anything.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 6 feet tall with a thin build with mid-length dreadlocks and last seen wearing dark-colored jeans and a black hooded sweatshirt covering his face. No further suspect descriptions were provided to responding troopers.

Maryland State Police K-9 unit responded to the scene to assist and conducted a track with negative results. Maryland State Police Crime Scene responded to the incident as well and processed the scene for evidence.

State police investigators are hoping anyone with information will come forward. Callers may remain anonymous. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Maryland State Police Salisbury Barrack at (410) 749-3101. This investigation is still active and ongoing.

he could have been looking for a job application

This is why you arm yourself. No way in hell I'd be confronting someone breaking in without having a firearm with me. Glad the person's alright but could've been worse.

Should have waited for him to get entirely in the house and then dropped him.

I always answer my door at night with a gun in my hand...This guy would have been shot and buried.

I agree with what everyone is saying about him entering and handling it but in this county and Maryland you would gave still been charged and let courts seort it out, this is from experience

I keep a hand gun by my bedside drawer and a baseball bat next to my doors. My son has a crossbow and I have two dogs that hear everything. I might loose, but at least I will give them a fight!

The police can't protect you from crap.

First they tell us that "we, the people" can only have the rights THEY say we can use. Then they do their best to disarm and restrict all citizens from gun ownership. Put some serious obstacles in the way.
Then sell bumper stickers that tell us that "Troopers are Your Best Protection". Protection against what?? Going to the 7-11 without a seat belt? Singing along with the radio?
They do what police do best -- show up AFTER the robbery, the murder, the rape, the assault, or the home invasion and file a report. And look for reasons to arrest the victim. Did you use a gun? Do you have a gun? Did you SAY "gun"? Did you THINK about a gun?
The report has to be thorough, you know.
Jury nullification. Shoot them until the gun is empty.
And don't think you need a cop's permission or a politician's approval.
No one does.
Keep cheering.

7:53, You're right. I do respect the police, but. Police only respond to crime. By the time they get there, the crime is over with. Police DO NOT protect us. When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.
