FEMA Plans to Fly Nearly 3,000 Puerto Ricans to NY, Florida

Over a month after Hurricane Maria slammed into Puerto Rico as a Category 4 storm and left most of the island without electricity, running water, or food, FEMA plans to fly nearly 3,000 people from the island's shelters to New York and Florida, BuzzFeed News reports.

"Based on states selected by the governor, FEMA is working to establish host-state agreements with both Florida and New York to accept those identified survivors," a spokesperson for the Federal Emergency Management Agency told BuzzFeed News.

Fifty-five people died during the hurricane or later as a direct result of the storm, according to the territory's government. Much of the territory, including the outer islands of Vieques and Culebra, remains without electricity, and thousands of miles of roads are still closed. Few hospitals are functioning and thousands are displaced.

No problem.
How would you feel if Maryland was a disaster zone and you weren't allowed to go to another state?

Hey "Mare" of OC, bring them here to OC and solve your Summer work shortage problem WAY before the season starts! Many could drive buses, be more security (on the boards and during non-seasonal weekends)

Get on of the elder families with deep pockets to pitch in a build accommodations off the island. You know this can be done easily cuz when you/council put your minds to things (walls in the middle of coastal highway) it gets done pronto!

Oh by the way - MOST are AMERICANS!

But they are not going to feed them and they have no jobs and cannot get hired because people know they are going to be heading back when they can. Not a good deal.

Their plan is to hang out in the mainland until the country rebuilds that entire country (they won't and can't pay for a bottle of water).
Let's not forget these losers ran that island into a rathole of 72 BILLION dollars of debt.
All they want is for us to pay it and rebuild all their houses. No charge.
Keep cheering.
