Sounds great but I have a problem with the funds first going to the WCPFFA's "nonprofit partner Operation Warm" who will then provide the coats. Can someone provide documentation that 100% of the funds collected will ALL be spent for coats for local children? I can understand not wanting to collect coats directly just money because been there done that and some donate pure junk that should be in the trash but why does there need to be this out of area nonprofit middleman?
Operation warm has a web site, you can track all the financial statements.firefighter across the country participate in this program.all the proceeds raised stay in Worcester co.as a teacher in Worcester,I have witnessed first hand the amazing results from this program.to see how happy the kids are after receiving a coat is priceless.so many positive results.all coats are made in the usa.stop by the fundraiser with any questions or concerns.
As a retired firefighter,I have participated in this program for years.such a positive impact in the community.the joy on the faces of the kids.try to track your donations to the red kettle campaign.this program is run by firefighters that volunteer many hours in the name of kids.all funds raised for this program in Worcester county, stay in the county.hats off to all those involved.
Thanks 11:07. I went ahead and checked Operation Warm out on Guidestar and in my highly critical (and suspicious) opinion I will rate them as an Excellent. You are correct to say anyone who donates need not be concerned about where their hard earned money is going.
This is the only org.we donate to.they are accountable for every penny raised.it brings tears to my eyes to see the results with the kids.like the letter states,it build character, self esteem, improves health.I will be there to support them.one of the best fundraisers all year.if anyone knows of kids in need of a coat,I suggest coming to the fundraiser.

I too looked them up on Guidestar. I give them an A++++ Excellent!
Given the many many disasters and those less fortunate these days, we must be vigilant about the check up on all charities.
The giving must get into the hands in need, not the support folks.
