"We believe strongly in the importance of the all-girl, girl-led, and girl-friendly environment that Girl Scouts provides, which creates a free space for girls to learn and thrive."
It went on to say, "The benefit of the single-gender environment has been well-documented by educators, scholars, other girl- and youth-serving organizations, and Girl Scouts and their families. Girl Scouts offers a one-of-a-kind experience for girls with a program tailored specifically to their unique developmental needs."

Where were the girl scouts this whole time the boy scouts have been under fire from the left ? Had the girl scouts spoke up for the boys perhaps this wouldn't have happened.
The unanimous decision was made by a very liberal board. NOT by Scouts, Parents, Leaders and sponsoring organizations.

My daughter is a bronze award winning Girl Scout. she has always wanted to do more of the types of things the boys do- and often attends Boy scouting activities with her brother as part of our family outing with scouting. this past summer we visited her brother at camp and she was able to shoot bows with the boys- and shot better than all of them! Her brother says it would be cool to be in scouts with her. she would like to ultimately earn the Gold award AND an Eagle if it became possible.
Why would the Girl Scouts stand in the way of a young woman making a choice and doing something she feels benefits her more? I though the GS was about empowering girls to make a difference.

I would never want to have my kids (or grand kids) having anything to do with the scout organizations of today. Boys are boys and girls are girls. You can't change Biology with Psychology. The organizations have become poor role models for our children.
