Study: More Than 40% Of Americans Struggling To Make Ends Meet

There are no shortage of surveys and studies that have found consumers aren’t doing so great with their finances: from 45% of Americans carrying at least $25,000 in debt to one-in-four families failing to seek medical attention because of financial worries. Now, another survey — this time from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau — found that more than 40% of adults struggle to make ends meet.

We teach so much in schools but fail horribly on teaching finances. Without that knowledge, money dominates you. You need to manage money.

6:36 easy scapegoat. The poor and sick would pay more in a private insurance scheme because the insurance companies don't want to keep shelling money out for Joe Shmoe's cancer treatments. A society in debt is a society that does not have the means, time or energy to rise up against it's suppressors.

No counting small businesses also.

Poor little insurance companies struggling. Don't you hear the steady drip of my heart for them. WTH???? They are taking in money for premiums, making deductibles 10-15 thousand dollars. People going to the doctor are having to spend out of pocket for their health treatment in order to make their deductible which some never do in a year. What I would like to ask the Insurance companies, WTH are you doing with all that money you are raking in and not covering these people??? Then you have all these slumlords charging at least $1200 per month for rent. Electricity keeps going up in price. How can people not struggle when they have all this against them?? The only entity not getting increases are the people.

My husband and I have been earning less, each year, for about 5 years now. As empty nesters, I thought we would be sailing easy at this point. Uh, NO! Life is hard, but family softens the blow. Live in the present and love the ones that mean everything to you. Everything else is uncontrollable life!
