Unionized workers call out Atlantic Theaters

Says business is taking advantage of Delaware’s economic opportunities

Members of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local 173 are protesting the labor being used to build Atlantic Theater’s new addition The Cube, a 6,300-square-foot, 200-seat theater.

According to a flyer being handed out by the group, Atlantic Theaters is using workers who are paid substandard wages.

Union usually means overpriced democrat supporting lazy workers...and you've earned that by observation of too many other jobs!

What are the builders being paid relative to the local economy? Then compare that to the union wages - then we can talk about whether or not their sign has merit!

I would suggest that the theatre is getting their work done at the market acceptable rate....since there's no union requirement here they might want to re-think their rates!

Stay strong union guys. Buy American made and American built.

There are plenty of american products that are built by non union workers and cost much less than union built products.

Substandard relative to what? If the people building the theater are happy with the wages, and the Theater is happy with the work that the wage buys, whats the problem? That sounds like the free market at work. Seems like the union ought to find a way to compete.

and as to the American made and built comment- it's being built on site in America. How is that not American built?

Unions have priced themselves out of the game, but still want to play at their higher price. We all get it, and we all say no, get it?
