Study: Most People Don’t Want To See Friends’ Vacation Pics On Social Media

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — The summer months are a popular time to plan a getaway. Many may have noticed this based on the proliferation of vacation photos on their preferred social media feed, but as you may know, people don’t always enjoy seeing others’ vacation photos on social media.

According to a study conducted by Aviva — A U.K.-based insurance company — of 2,000 people polled, an overwhelming majority (73 percent) are annoyed when they see others’ vacation photos on social media.

The most irritating pose? The “hot dogs or legs?” beach/poolside picture and caption.

In the wayback we didn't want to see the slideshow of your vacation, either, no matter how good the meal or the wine.

When I travel, I am never on vacation as most of the time it is a working trip. I do post various photos of the destination/resorts as many are interested in possibly traveling to that area in the future and enjoy seeing
the photos vs. a travel website that uses "photoshop. I have to agree though that the picture of legs and feet really don't tell much about the destination, etc.

I find the "look at me" scenario tiring. I use to think it was a generation thing (ie millennials), but I have noticed more and more of my own peers doing the same thing. It is almost like the people who do this constantly need the attention in order to feel good. It is quite sad and very self serving.

Only people who don't like it are those who can't afford a vacation or chicks with fat legs.

Brag photos and attention whores.
No one cares, and no one wants to see or hear someone brag about their expensive vacation, when you either had to work, or have a family to support and just don't have the money for this. Glad you are happy and had a good time, but just shove it in anyone's noses.

Some people actually like to see others pictures. Those that don't, well they can scroll past them, unfollow that person etc.

They must be your friends for you to see them in the first place. Calling them names like braggarts and attention whores makes you seem like not a very good friend.
