Is Salisbury Animal Control OUT OF THEIR MIND?

A very concerned citizen just informed me about a PUPPY being left in the heat, (picture 1). Animal Control was called in and picture 2 is their SOLUTION?

A black plastic TARP, are you people mentally challenged?

Now get your rear ends out there right now and save this defenseless PUPPY or I will report YOU people to state officials and cause you more trouble then you've ever experienced.

DO IT NOW!

Owners need to be put in the kennel out in the sun for about 6 hours

I don't give a rat's ass WHO you are...you have NO BUSINESS having ANY living creature and IF this is what Animal Control advised...they need a SERIOUS HOUSE CLEANING!! GO DO WHAT IS RIGHT BY THAT PUPPY!!!

B. No person shall fall to provide an animal under his control with:
1. Sufficient quantities of food and water to maintain such animal in good condition. Water
containers should be secured in a manner to prevent overturning.
2. Sufficient air and ventilation to maintain such animal in good condition.
3. Shelter and protection from the weather.
4. Veterinary care when needed to prevent undue suffering.
5. Sanitary living conditions.
6. Sufficient living space.
7. Proper collar, or chains, or pens.
C. No person shall leave an animal unattended in a motor vehicle in a manner that endangers the
health or safety of the animal. Animals shall not be left unattended in said vehicle for a time period greater than
twenty (20) minutes.
(Ord. 1709 § 1 (part), 1999)

Can y'all go to Raven court off jersey rd and deal with the cat issue! That would be lovely!!! I can't even bring my groceries in the house without returning to a cat in my vehicle eating my food! It's got to stop

Looks to me like Animal Control is trying to bake this poor little guy. Being in the shade uncovered was not a violation and at least he could get air flow threw the cage.

My tax dollars being wasted on idiots....

We had a free running dog in our area that had killed 2 cats. When they came out they left a small cat cage on the side of my home. Now how did they think that would help? (map)

Cats are considered "free roaming" in Wicomico County. That means they can't be trapped unless you do it privately. Thank your local crazy cat lady for that

Anonymous @ 2:32.

The dog had shade at that time, BUT within the hour he would've been in full sun! How can you be such a heartless bastard?

I would like to go and pick this little guy up. I think that anyone who is aware of a situation such as this should just pick the poor animal up and find a good home for it.

Brilliant. Black plastic. Cuts off the air and concentrates the heat. Unbelievable!

Anyone know the location so a real human being can go get it?

Anonymous said...

Yes, is there an address that can be given?
Someone can just go there and take/save the puppy.

Update:
It appears the puppy has been moved. Hopefully it's somewhere safe.

This house is across from The Salisbury City Park.

Salisbury Animal Control has been in the sun for far too long....due to the lack of oxygen, his critical thinking skills has been impaired.

If he's in a crate, why the hell is he outside? This kind of thing drives me nuts! If you can't properly take care of an animal, don't get one!!

As to the cat comments, do you have college kids in your neighborhood? We have a constant flow of them, & some get a cute little kitten then find they can't take it back home with them & leave the poor animals to fend for themselves.

the post says animal control did this, NOT the owners. you people can't read.

Animal Control in Wicomico County is not humane they do nothing when their are called except tell the offending people who reported them, they don't come back or even check out the animals for neglect or broken bones when abuse is reported so thus in the city of Salisbury they die in the streets or at that abused home. I have even reported someone living in a church parsonage of shooting two cats last year they never came. He shot them and literally threw them in a hole.

Hope someone will drive by the park and keep an eye on this poor little baby. I read the rules of what you have to do to "legally" rescue an animal in a bad situation...such as a hot car....and I am shocked it just goes against common sense. I am not a police officer but if I see an animal in a car on a hot day...I would get that poor animal out of that car.

Joe, Please follow up on this story.
Sounds like Animal Control needs to appear to defend/explain their actions. Who is responsible for their oversight?

Anonymous said...

It says that was animal controls solution. Not that they did it. We can read just fine 5:42.

No law requires air conditioning for an animal. Get real.

Looks like a a silver/black tarp with the reflective side facing out towards sun.

7:54 You come on my posted property and you will wish you didn't. Mind your own business.

Anonymous said...

Looks like the owner is tossing out threats now. Don't go on his property or he will toss you in a cage with a tarp too

Anonymous said...

Not my house-not my dog. My property is at end of 1/2 mile private drive with several no trespassing signs and 2 gates. I catch you on my property, you will be detained until LEO arrives to arrest you.

Anonymous said...

So what does that have to do with this dog? No one cares where you live. If this is not your dog and you can't help back off

Anonymous said...

Give me the address and I'll come get him and I'll take care of him lol he's cute as can be

Anonymous said...

No one said anything about "providing air conditioning"!
The POINT IS, (slow one), they left the dog in a wire crate, in the hot boiling sun! It's idiots like you who think treating animals like this is ok.
You probably have to be reminded not to leave your kids locked in a hot car too, don't you?
Classic case of stupid right here.

1:57 Has to do with minding your own business and staying off other people's property. Why don't you bring all the cows, horses and goats inside too.

8:06 A.M. People like you need to take
"flying leap" of the face of
the earth! This animal had
no shade, improper house for
being outside & more then likely
didn't have food or water either.
God help you if you have children
with no more understanding then is
in your noggin!!!

1:57 I can help some people to not get hurt by trespassing. You have no right to enter upon another's property because you don't like how they keep an ANIMAL. It's a dog. Dogs live outside in Alaska all year long. They live outside in Arizona too.

Anonymous said...

Let me be clear - I hope someone goes and picks that puppy up and takes it out of there. Forget pictures, that's the solution! Your sorry butts don't deserve an animal. I have friends in Arizona AND Alaska - they BRING THEM IN OR PUT THEM IN PROPER SHELTER! Grow up!

12:55 The earth is round in case you didn't make it past elementary school.

EACH STATE has Laws to protect the animal,
some Laws more stringent then others.

Our County has it's Laws to abide by also.

All creatures feel pain . That's why we
have Laws to help protect them.

God help the human ?? who thinks it's O.K.
to keep an animal out in the boiling sun
in this weather.

IF this is in the city limits, then City Animal
Control is the one who responded. To find
their Rules go their web site . See what it
says is the Law about this.
