Rape Is Up Almost 62% In 2017 In Salisbury Maryland

To think we're only 6 months into the year too!

Their documents, not ours.

Did I mention they say we're liars.

Why isn't this town being investigdated but the Feds for crime stats cover up.???

I'm sure the boy mayor is soooo proud. But hey, he has to get that racist historical sign down because it's way more important.

Maybe your new vinyl fence will protect you

Deplorable!

The chain fence ordinance should be challenged in court. You can really limit town officials if you sue them over their stupid decisions.

Lets have a big round of applause for Salisbury, Cambridge, Ocean City and Princess Anne. You guys are rated as 4 of the most dangerous cities in Maryland......That's 4 of the top 12. Yep folks one third of the state's worst towns are right here on the mid shore. So all you local leaders give yourselves a big round of applause. Because when it comes to screwing up a place you certainly are the best at it. And you voters (or the ones to lazy to get out to vote) give yourselves a big pat on the back. You put these loosers in office.

If this was not so frightening for parents of girls/young women it would be just plain SAD.

Is there ONE leader in Wicomico County (which includes Salisbury for those elected to County positions who act like Salisbury is not connected to the County) that actually CARES about crime and what is happening? The County Council has relinquished all of its so called power to the City and Jake Day. What the h#ll has happened to people? You MEN are a disgrace!

Homicide ??? 2 last week and the report has 0. I think Homicide is a lot more than reported. Through May... how about through the end of the year and report facts, not the BS

According to a new report, Salisbury, a small city in Maryland’s Eastern Shore, is one of the top five of most dangerous places to live in the country.

In cities with populations of more than 25,000 people, the website Neighborhood Scout places Salisbury fourth as most dangerous place to live in the country. Salisbury comes in behind Saginaw, Mich., Chester, Pa. and Las Vegas Nev.

According to the annual report, the chances of being the victim of a violent crime in Salisbury are 1 in 42, drastically higher than the state’s average

In recent years, Salisbury has been battling a large uptick in gang-related violence, crime, and prostitution, but city officials say that crime has actually gone down slightly in the last year, and point to the city’s 2010 award as an All-American City — an honor awarded by the National Civic League.

Still, some folks in this little community of just 28,000 people are shocked and outraged by the report that says Salisbury is only safer than just 2 percent of cities in America.

The overall crime rate in Salisbury is 123% higher than the national average.
For every 100,000 people, there are 17.48 daily crimes that occur in Salisbury.
Salisbury is safer than 2% of the cities in the United States.
In Salisbury you have a 1 in 16 chance of becoming a victim of any crime.
The number of total year over year crimes in Salisbury has decreased by 4%.

Jake Day has yet to make a statement on the Denny's Double Killing. As much as he tweets you think he would have tweeted about that.

I'm just curious why that isn't showing the 2017 killings in Salisbury. Remember the 2 at Denny's.

And aren't the drug OD's in public restrooms homicides as well as the ones at the dumpsters? Homicide is a forced human death by whatever means, I thought, or if overdoses are considered suicides, where are those stats?

Ahh, ease up. He's just a little kid. You can't expect him to deal with all these adult things.
